Hello, I'm not sure if you're aware but you can have personal access to the PNLD under your force's subscription. It requires you to register with your police email address but can then be accessed outside of work, should you ever need it.

Ive been using the PNLDB for years -its always been available to all in my force - has this not been the case everywhere then?

Not many days go by when I dont use it

Certainly wouldnt want to access it from home though!

Every force has a subscription, this is an expansion to allow everyone to have an individual account who has a police email address.

I sometimes search out the law when replying on here. I'd much rather do it from the PNLD than most other sources.

Ok -its just been another tab on our force intranet for years - never needed to register or subscribe. Really useful site. The Sgt I work with helped design the site.

Yes it's on all intranets. I think it's based at WYP for some reason.

I've not used it for a while but I do recall it having some sort of WYP flavour to it last time I did.

It's based at WYP HQ at Wakefield. If you ever e-mail PNLD it's a WYP email address.

Pretty much.

It has all (I assume) legislation relevant to the police as well as explanations of how it is interpreted and applied. Case law, Codes of Practice, Home Office circulars and commentary on up-coming legislation.
