Long story short..
Cuts me up in his van, i am on a cycle and jumps out of his van acting like the big man. Telling me how he is going to put me down.

I remained calm throughout the process not removing my helmet or sunglasses. As soon as i started barking back at him - hero man decides to call his mate out of the van. So now i have two of them to deal with. Again not wanting to either lose ground or my face, manage to calm the situation down somewhat and then proceed with my journey.

Are there seriously people like this on the roads? He was telling me that he was on an assault charge and that he couldn't hit me, but would claim self defense if i hit him?! Almost laughed when i heard that.

Looking at the state of his van (15 reg) battered down one side, i told him his van and he were pieces of sh*t to which he responded someone turned into me. I just said - it is always someone else's fault, someone else cut you up, or someone else did this to you.

Complete prick of a man. Took a photo of his van. Would you report it to his company?

Yes. You may not be the first to complain about him, and if he was my driver, representing my company, I wouldn't want him out the van threatening people, whether he was in the right originally or not. He may already be on an assault charge from the last cyclist he got into an argument with...

Thanks everyone. Reported it to the company and the MD will hopefully call me back. From the sounds of it they are well aware of the individual and his assault charges. Hopefully I will get a result of some sort.

Yes there are.

My brother was parked up, a learner parked at the side of the road(a) and another learner(b) coming down the road behind him. As B was about to pass A, A pulled off and b had to slam on, the parent beeped the horn so A slammed on infront of them. driver gets out of A and passenger out of B, then two more passengers out of A also get out. Proceed to knock out B, get back in the car and wheelspin away. All caught on dashcam!

I complained to a company about 4 years ago, 3 vans from the same firm racing down the M62, i joined at the M60 junction as i was trying to join one of their vans pulled from the slow lane on to the slip road around me and cut me up, changing lanes badly etc, when traffic free'd up a bit they disappeared. i emailed the company saying how disgusted i was, they reviewed the data from trackers, one of the drivers had the van taken away from them and the other 2 got written warnings. Felt like a dick but they put a lot of lives at risk, I was cut up 3/4 times easily. if nobody reports them they'll keep doing it.

In a similar note, once had a complaint one of our cars had cut up and slammed on for lights in front of another car, very unhappy. We called the girl who had the car and she was quite shocked at the complaint, especially because her car was in for a service at vauxhall's.

I had similar about 10 years ago.

White van man cut up an elderly couple then ran through a red light (behind me) then tried to cut me up but couldn't as they ran out of road. I then got a McDonald's milkshake through my sunroof when we had to both stop at a roundabout further up.

Fortunately the elderly couple who had previously also been cut up witnessed all this and agreed to be contacted by the Police. The police did follow up. Whether anything happened to them via their employer I don't know. It was an unmarked van but the Police told me it was a company vehicle they were driving.

Cant believe there are pricks like this who would want to go to prison over road rage. Really? What is the point for these road heroes.

Well done for reporting. I try to protect cyclists when driving my white van. If I was a witness to this I'd have run him over for you.

Whats the long story.......

So he cut you up and then had a go at you, this sounds all very strange. What really happened?

About 15 years ago now, the company that I still work for, employed a van driver; a bit rough around the edges but friendly enough.

One day he came into work with his hand all strapped up; accident at home apparently, only we were contacted by the Police that same day; he had been involved in a road rage incident in our liveried van, where he had beaten someone up quite badly.

Needless to say, he was arrested and also sacked.

He had a 2-3 year gap in his CV, it was explained by him that he had taken time out of work to look after his new baby so that the wife could stay working, it transpired that he had actually been inside for a similar road rage incident.

Definitely report it.

A few weeks ago an articulated lorry tried to force me into an accident on the motorway.

Was in lane 3 passing a lorry. Debris in lane 4 was suddenly flicked up and I had to brake hard to avoid it. The lorry (now behind) had just started to cross into lane 3 but was too close meaning he had to duck into lane 2 to avoid hitting me. he took exception to this so as he came along side me he indicated and pull into my lane. I had nowhere to go other than do another emergency stop!

I found all the company directors email addresses and sent them my thoughts. I got an apology and it will stay on the drivers record. Hopefully the bloke won't do that to someone else.

Nope - 2 sides to every story and we haven't got the full story from the OP's side yet.

Report it to the company for sure.

About 15-20 years ago I recall my granddad having a run in with a van driver. The bloke cut across him so my granddad gave him a beep, correct use of the horn to alert the guy he was there.

The driver went mental, threw a coke can at his car, drove erratically, brake testing etc etc. My mum was in the car and noted down the details of the company, registration etc (Something a dash cam does for you nowadays). Reported it to the company, guy lost his job as it turns out he had a female passenger in the van and wasn't meant to have passengers let alone his behaviour.

In response to the OP, sadly there are some utter mental out there. They'll drive around like total c-units and kick off at anyone who dares to challenge that.

Had a guy in a pick-up pull out on me quite badly, being 23 and a bit trigger happy I hit the horn and the guy goes off on one. Brake testing, then trying to run me out of my lane etc. I ended up behind him and turned right at a roundabout and pulled over. Next thing I know as I've stopped the guy has rammed the back of my car. A Renault 5 vs a Nissan Navara was not much of a match and the ensuing 'discussion' was interesting. The Mrs at the time called the police, he disappeared but all the Police could say was, 'Go through your insurance' and had no interest in the fact he'd done it on purpose. The guy was an absolute nut job, probably late 50s. Oddly enough, whilst unable to get my car moved and waiting for recovery he came back and had obviously cooled down. Gave me his number as I explained he'd written the car off etc. He ended up paying me out in cash the following day after his temper had subsided and he realise what an idiot he'd been. Long and short though is that yes, some people are absolutely morons and anger takes over!!

They do seem to be about.

I had someone in a small van pull out on me on a roundabout when I had right of way (I was in the process of entering roundabout from his right). Had to brake hard not to hit him. Then he was sticking his fingers up at me out of his window.... bless.

As the road opened up I breezed past him, so he decided to try and chase me. It was really quite funny him trying to follow in his sheddy van. He followed me for about 2 or 3 miles then we got to a DC NSL and I just floored it and left him...

I don't understand what these people intend to do if they ever did catch up with you?

I once witnessed an incident in Bracknell where approaching one of the many DC roundabouts, there was a car passing on the left of a car that had been sitting there the entire carriageway.

At the roundabout, the car on the right suddenly swerved into the middle blocking both lanes of busy traffic, stopping the whole carriageway. I was about 4 cars back but saw clearly enough this middle aged no neck chap get out challenging the other car, then the whole carriageway to "come on then", had some kind of mini meltdown, got in his car and drove off.

Most bewildering. I was embarrassed at his behalf.

I suspect this may be normal for Bracknell?

2 sides - it all started between the driver and cyclist, the 3rd person was not in control of a vehicle and came into the story later on.
