Just curious but does anyway one know it's possible to trace a mobile number down?

I just had a voicemail threatening to kill me and my kids, I've already rung the police as it is a little unsettling. But curious to know if I can do anything else.

Cheers!

The police will have technology that can track down a number, right down to the network provider, surely?

Very sorry to hear this, it must be very stressful. Ringing the police is the best course of action - which you've already taken. Worth trying to google the number, you may get lucky - but bear in mind numbers get re-issued. Pass any information you gather to the police, don't try and take any action yourself.

The fact they weren't smart enough to hide their number when calling suggests they are either very stupid or don't care about being caught making threatening calls.

Either:

1) the message was definitely intended for you, and you already know who it is, or
2) you have absolutely no idea, and it was possibly a wrong number.

Post it on here and let the PH detectives have a field day!

It is tempting but might wait till I hear back from the police first. Also though about putting it up on Reddit or somewhere for people to "have a chat" with the caller!

Or another good one, add it to your phone contacts and then look in Whatsapp, may have a profile picture etc in there..

It's easy to trace a number.

1) write the number down

2) take a piece of toilet paper from this stty hotel I'm staying in and place it on top of the number.

3) write over it.

Job jobbed. Just be careful that your hand doesn't go through or your Arse bleeds.

Realistically, you will know who it was so it won't be hard to come up with a name.

Also you aren't going to be killed.

People say it all the time, those that say it don't those that don't do.

Is it someone you know? Is there a backstory?

Are you going to text them saying 'Hello (insert name). The police would like a word!'

Keep us posted!

I'd be screenshotting the link and giving those with the voicemails to the plod and letting them have some fun. Or phone them back and call them by name thanking them for the voicemail and asking when they're planning to carry out said crime.

Nope never heard of her, never even been to Harrow (where she says she doesn't live), she doesn't work (she's a princess apparently) and she's into women so not a vengeful one night stand either!

Was pretty sure I wasn't going to be killed, but am not happy for threats to be made to my kids.

To be honest I wouldn't know how to post a pic from her facebook account and they really aren't "interesting"

We'll be the judge of that, as you were.

Had similar by text earlier in the year. Corresponded with my wife having issues with a work colleague. Involved the police and her employer, turned out to be completely unconnected, just some random nutter that like to threaten people by email.

I never trust anyone who starts a comment by saying "to be honest"
