Recently one of drivers had a near miss with a coach. Watching the footage, it's clear the coach driver blows through a busy mini roundabout, with a stream of traffic turning from his right, without even trying to stop.

I wrote to the company offering them the footage to investigate.

What I got back from their MD shocked me. He didn't want the footage as some of his vehicle have cctv and telemetry but not clear if this w Reg coach in question does or not!

The line that really got me was this-

I would also comment that as required by law all our drivers are professionally qualified, have regular medical checks and in addition we operate our own driving school were additional training to any particular individual can be given if deemed necessary. I assume that in contrast you hold no professional qualification that enables you to make a valued judgement?

The kicker for them is that i am a school parent governor and we use this at present. Since I replied with that his communications have gone strangely quiet!.

Is it just me is that arrogant as hell.

You're a school governor?

I would have expected your grammar and punctuation to have been a bit better then...

Next time report the poor driving to the police not the owner of the business.

Yes agreed thought I would give them a chance.

No matter how stupid a complaint to me business wise I would always send like I take it seriously.

This sort of arrogant twaddle just makes things worse in my opinion.

Why? He's a governor, not a teacher!

This ^^

You would have thought a responsible director would at least like to see the footage to make their own decision, if they are going to play at being Billy Big-Balls (perhaps they are powerfully built?) then a quick word with the chair of governors or headteacher and show them the footage?

Yes that's why I think it's gone quiet.

He serves a lot of local schools, is a local employer and clearly to stupid to appreciate that if a local complains they most likely know someone with business ties and best not to be an arrogant twunt in response. Not even looked into the matter was a knee jerk response. Email starts off ok and gets worse as time goes on.

I heard the MD got upset when his luxury coach was referred to as a bus the headmaster told me!

Does seem a bit arrogant. You don't need to be a professional driver to recognise bad driving when you see it in the same way that you don't need to be a concert pianist to distinguish piano playing at it's worst. At the very least I would have expected him to welcome the chance to review the video footage before passing judgement.

To give him another chance, why not put it up on Youtube and send him the link! (Be sure you post the link here too)

I had to check your profile to see where you were based but you aren't near me. One of the local coach companies near us were suspended from operations for a week because of repeated reports of poor driving and/or accidents involving their drivers. They held many of the school contracts, including the school I used to go to.

I don't want to sound like an arse but give them a chance to do what?

If all you are after is an apology then I would suggest moving on as life is to short.

Had there been a collision then fair enough but for a near miss all you seem to be doing is causing yourself stress for no reason.

I witnessed an incident a few months back with one of their drivers and didn't want the hassle so left it.

They get a report with footage they can review speak to the driver maybe having personal problems. It's always nice to have a word with a person or company before going straight the authorities.

I will upload the video tonight.
