And there's why you can't have a sensible debate on here. You're either "anti-speed scum", or if you say that you're a habitual speeder to remove that insult, you suddenly become a willy waver, exactly as my post predicted.
100mph on the M6 over Thelwall, or down the M62 over the bumps near Warrington, or up the hills near Wigan on the M6, or down the M602 to Salford Quays, most parts of the M60 and so on are pretty scary places to be doing over 100, especially if it's during the day.
I missed this.100mph on the M6 over Thelwall, or down the M62 over the bumps near Warrington, or up the hills near Wigan on the M6, or down the M602 to Salford Quays, most parts of the M60 and so on are pretty scary places to be doing over 100, especially if it's during the day.
Who were you responding to anyway?

So, 56 day ban and a £365 fine.
I guess with this outcome, the offence was an SP30?Without knowing every specific detail, it does seem somewhat lenient, and that's after I consider Bury St Edmunds magistrate to have been very easy on me a few years ago!

The maximum ban for speeding is life
cmagire - I have a very good idea of the outcome, but that's not point of this discussion.
Having said that, i'm slightly surprised he only get the normal max of 56 days. If 150mph isn't "extreme cases" what the hell is ?

Good result for him, pretty lenient."Inspector David Giles from Suffolk Constabulary said afterwards the shortness of the ban did not send out the right message.
“There can be no excuses and I’m not condoning speeding at all, but we’re faced with a world here that someone can get caught four times doing less than 40mph and get a ban for far longer than someone doing 154mph,” he said."
Correct, but not in the way he thinks. Someone caught doing less than 20% over the limit should just get a fine. Points for doing 36mph in a 30 are a ridiculous idea.
