What van will hit 132? The Vito Sport X which is a mental beast of a van tops out at 124. It's a shame that you want to drive a van at 132, ride a motorbike pushing out a claimed 113dB, but can't get on a trackday with others on here to satisfy your need for speed.
It's a 1.9cdti Astravan. The book speed is 129 on the limiter. It has a diesel tuning box which helps the acceleration, and by modifying the wheel size parameters using Opcom the speedo over-read can be reduced, thereby also giving a bit more topend.
The bikes you already know about, there's a 500bhp car in the garage too, although that doesn't get a lot of use.
I'm far less confident on the bikes as I just don't do the mileage. Plus you can't fall off something with 4 wheels, so sliding them about is second nature.

you can get a brabus tweaked Viano that will top out at 142 mph and hit 60 in 7.2 smile
That doesn't sound like the sort of van that a "service engineer" would have. Even the self employed mates that I've got have some sthole vans for work amd the nice stuff stays ready for the weekend.

I'd been looking at the Brabus Vito as a replacement. Good performance and I could take a bike to France in the back, the downside being the handling will be nowhere near as good as the current van.

Kills the time while the dinner is cooking and the football is on.

Back when I had a Leon Cupra it'd only do 143 flat out. Is that on topic?

I hope he checked the speed rating on his sidewalls before setting off.

I could pick plenty if you want, I have driven 25000+ miles nationwide per year for the last 20 years as a service engineer.
I guess we just feel differently about the perception of road speed. 70 to me just feels pedestrian on any straight road and as such why would I want to be going that slow? I get to site and get home quicker if I go faster.
My attitude to corners is no different to straights.
You sound like someone with a very poor attitude and I just hope you never work anywhere near me or anyone I know. You need educating, but probably by someone who is experienced with getting arrogant f-tards to realise how very wrong they are.
Just because you have no conception of this doesn't mean he's wrong. The arrogant f-tard on here is you imho.

There's no skill required to jump out of a plane without a parachute. No skill needed to jump in front of a moving train, but are pretty dangerous. However, let's stick to the idea first mooted.

Would you say that drag racing is dangerous? That's a clear empty track, driving in a straight line.

What a great analogy. I don't know many people who survive jumping in front of trains. But travelling on a motorway at 100, happens every day without incident and by your own admission, it doesn't take Hamilton to do it. Your statement was a bit incongruous with the lack of skill comment on the one hand (which I broadly agree with), and the sanctimonious bit.

Does drag racing require skill? Depends. Proper drag cars, and the speeds they reach, absolutely. A 1/4 mile run in a daily, a bit, unless the drag strip has very little grip. And the bit of skill is limited to the launch and gear change. Not much skill required otherwise. Not sure what the relevance is though.

Nope, still not seeing your point. I have t mentioned "danger" anywhere in my posts, until you brought it up. I merely passed a comment that driving in a straight line at a silly speed does t take a lot of skill. You then extrapolated that to mean that if there's no skill it can't be can't be dangerous. I gave some examples where little skill is needed for something to be dangerous.

That's all

Which was the sanctimonious bit? I'll pretty well guarantee I've gone faster on a road this week than you have*. I was annoyed that cmaguire would be holding me (and probably many others) up when he was driving his van if he got his wish for totally derestricted roads.

* I fully expect you to say I'm willy waving now. Fact is I like speed, I always speed when I'm driving, but it's in moderation on the kind of roads where plod are likely to be lurking.

Maybe I've extrapolated that few motorways around your way would accommodate 100, and doing 100mph on a motorway can feel super fast. It can, if there's grid lock, but I'm not sure you meant that wink.

And yes, you're willy waving.

I never speed wink.

How fast have you gone on the road this week? On the clock or GPS?

And there's why you can't have a sensible debate on here. You're either "anti-speed scum", or if you say that you're a habitual speeder to remove that insult, you suddenly become a willy waver, exactly as my post predicted.

100mph on the M6 over Thelwall, or down the M62 over the bumps near Warrington, or up the hills near Wigan on the M6, or down the M602 to Salford Quays, most parts of the M60 and so on are pretty scary places to be doing over 100, especially if it's during the day.
