Isn't that one fine + admin charges? If so, I would not be surprised if you would see the second one shortly as well.

That is why I mentioned earlier in the thread, normally they lift it straight from the hire company.
"In accordance with our terms and conditions we have passed your details on to the issuing organisation and they will send written notification to you.
To cover our costs of dealing with the fine or charge, our administration fee of EUR 42.35 will be processed to the payment card used at the time of the rental within 14 days of the date of this letter.
If you wish to appeal the fine or charge, you must contact the issuing organisation directly. Unfortunately we will not be able to assist you with this"

The second page is the invoice which is only for the admin charge.

Key phrase for me is: our administration fee of EUR 42.35 will be processed to the payment card
No mention of the fine being paid in the letter at all, and no mention of "plus the fine" in that sentence.

No reply yet from Avis Budget

I got a charge from Avis in holland last year for processing the enquiry about a speeding ticket and then a further charge for a fine for them not providing enough information to identify the driver and a charge for processing the fine......!!
I think it's a con by the Dutch government so they don't need to chase the driver and that Avis just go along with it.

Called Avis NL and got caught in a perpetual loop of "press 1 for Dutch press 2 for English". Either brought me back to same menu.

Called Avis Uk and asked them what was going on.
Luckily she had access to same system and could see the documents I had sent. Told me he yes chase their Dutch counterparts but if they didn't respond it would be refunded to me anyway as it was clearly an error.

Takes up to ten days to process and it was last Tuesday when I called.

Will not be using Avis again. Although they're all as bad as each other.

You have to be carefull in the lowlands.Fines are very high they like to take your money.

Parking on a disability bay without a badge over 300 Euro's.Wouldn't be a bad idea in the UK where so many park on these bays without any disability.

Roads are good, some motorways are up to 130km about 80mph speed limit.Rotterdam is a car friendly city plenty of opportunity to stop and have a break.

The Dutch tend to be more honest about what Speed Camaras are all about.Money, money money. The Gatso I believe came from there. Some bright spark with a bad idea for road use.
