We have a car parked in our crescent that's been in an accident and looks a mess, been there for a month. It's taxed, insured and has an MOT.All we can do is ignore it,I suppose the owner is waiting for an insurance decision or whatever.

Accept that you do not own the road in front of your property, and that the vehicle is legally parked even if you do not like it?
8 weeks sounds more like storage not just parking.

If it's legal the owner can store it there until it becomes illegal (tax/insurance) can't he?

Legally yes, but most people would park it out of the way, maybe down the side of a house against a side wall or somewhere where others are not inconvenienced. People are just selfish these days.

It's a car parked outside his house, hardly inconvenient is it? Nobody owns the road outside their house, so who's being selfish to assume they do?

Your 100% right he doesn't own the road outside his house, I also park outside peoples houses quite often, I would not however leave a car sat there for 2 months, that's just me.

Parking outside someone's house is fine as cars come and go and everyone gets a chance at parking there, storing a car for 2 months does take the p155. That's just me, manners cost nothing.

I don't get the problem though, I understand it it be annoying, but the OP hasn't even made it clear if he has a drive, or this is a terraced where parking may be more of a premium. Either way it's not necessarily bad manners, although I'd question why someone would want to leave their car where it's inconvenient for them too, for example, by being a long walk from their house, or where they can't keep an eye on its security.

No issues with that, it's taxed till July 17, but no MOT, so can't legally be driven.
Yes it can. The owner could come back from holiday and drive it to an MOT garage legally. I doubt it is dumped if someone has just paid for a years tax. Probably just there while someone is travelling. They may not have a drive way. Perfectly legal to be stored on the highway providing Taxed and insured.

Have you checked if it's leaking petrol/oil? If so, I seem to recall it can be towed on those grounds.
