Advice on getting an issue fixed with our car.
Discussion
Having a bit of an issue with our ND MX5 that we bought last September.
The inner lining of the roof detaches when putting the roof back up and sags, partially obscuring the rear view. It's a niggling issue - I just want to get it fixed.
So far the car has been back in to Mazda on the 19th of June when they fixed it. A few days later the problem started again, so we went back on 28th June and it was fixed again.
On the 19th I gave them a TSB (technical service bulletin) number that miata.net was sharing - Link - and explained that I didn't want to try and diagnose the problem for them, but this seemed like a good place to start. The TSB calls for some extra clips to be fitted to help hold the inner liner in place. I wasn't convinced they had done this on the 19th, but couldn't get a clear answer from them about what they had done. On the 28th I left a printout of the TSB in the car for them.
Since then, the roof has lasted the best part of a month, but over the weekend it broke again.
Before I contact my garage again, I just wanted to seek the collective wisdom of PH - anything I should be saying, thinking, considering etc before I go back for the third time.

Leave a shotgun in the boot? I have heard stories of customers that have done this (mainly in the Glasgow area). I can only assume it works effectively when niggling problems need rectified.
Normally i'd say such tales are far fetched but after working in the motor trade just outside Glasgow for a while i wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if that really happened.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
