106mph on an empty motorway warrants a spell in jail!???
Christ, going by your logic, I deserve the lethal injection for my earlier speed...
fk off to Mumsnet!
OP, get in touch with Agtlaw on here - well respected Motoring solicitor... Good luck!
This, I'm currently in the midst of sorting out my own speeding issue at a very similar speed - nothing prior106mph on an empty motorway warrants a spell in jail!???

If I'd had a ban & been done for no insurance I would be driving like Miss Daisy.
Like I said in first post, those are no longer on my license. They expire after 3 years. The only place they will show is on a conviction check as they would count as unspent as I believe it's after 5 years they are removed from your CR but I may be wrong. Joeguard1990 said:

I'm not an expert hence why I posted on here for some advice Shame the brainwashing has worked and some on here now view speeding offensive as hugely serious matters.
106 on the M25? Not clever due to the cameras, but hardly crime of the century.
I'd be interested to hear the reasons for the earlier ban, really we need the full history to be able to comment. Without that, probably a fairly short ban and hefty fine. The key will be to persuade the court to impose the shortest disqualification possible. Don't tell them you plan to give up driving for a bit, as that will destroy any mitigation. Unless you really don't care about a ban, which would be rather sad.
I would be taking this as a warning to curb my speed in places where I am inevitably going to get caught. Any of the "smart motorways" are not worth going over 80 on now, certainly not the M25 which has to be the most regulated, heavily enforced road in the world.

No offence Joe but he's right- you haven't learnt.
You broke the law once and got banned (you can have no excuse for not being insured)
You have now broken the law again, doesn't matter which law but again by such a margin as to make it open/shut case, which you have admitted guilt to.
Frankly you deserve the book thrown at you. If a ban and a fine didn't work before it probably won't again, perhaps a short spell in jail, loss of your job and license will make you think twice next time?
You'll probably get off with a ban and a fine again but you deserve a much harsher sentence than the court is able to give you.
Standard for this place really. You broke the law once and got banned (you can have no excuse for not being insured)

The guy has admitted he was wrong, hasn't really tried to make any excuses, and is purely asking for an idea on what to expect as a punishment.
So you stick the boot in. Do you feel better?

Even my old-fart German colleague was straight up to 200KPH when he picked us up from Munich airport the other day. And it's not like everyone is doing that speed - plenty are going much slower and you're absolutely flashing past trucks.106mph on an empty motorway warrants a spell in jail!???

I had my day in court almost 20 years ago, for exactly the same speed on a motorway M6 past Carlisle
Turned up in person (there wasn't a choice) took the duty solicitor and faced the magistrates full of contrition.
I got 14 day ban and a £150 fine as a full time student.
Good luck and please continue to politely call out the judgmental pricks on here for their vitriol when they dispense it.

Did you go on to drive without insurance and possibly face another ban?Turned up in person (there wasn't a choice) took the duty solicitor and faced the magistrates full of contrition.

Don't worry about your past if it's relevant (which I don't think it is) to this case then yes but it was three years ago so has nothing to do with your speeding at 106mph.
Go to court makes representations regarding time of day your work show remorse & you'll probably get between a 30-60 day ban.
Leave it up to the court to decide if they want to dig around in your driving record.
I bet you got caught on the Hadecs part of the M25 sounds like you need to treat yourself to some frosted plates.

and your speedo *could* have been reading upto around 115 mph, not just a few mph over.
Joe, just ignore the spaniels on here. Look out for posts by people like agtlaw, I think he's some kind of motoring lawyer or something. As for the above comment. What a crock. I could've been a space shuttle astronaut.
Have you ever seen a speedo read 115 at a GPS 106?
Good luck, I'm like a broken record but it never used to be this way.
