Photo required. Don't forget to include the tin of custard.

If I could find a dry cleaner who would pay me £100 for putting a pin in the back of a waistcoat i'd be buying three or four a week and taking them in. In fact more!

Amazed they have offered a penny.

I dread to think what's going to happen in November when the OP comes across a member of the Royal British Legion who tries to pin a poppy on his lapel. biggrin

Regardless or the rights and wrongs of the case, only on PH is a £630 suit a cheap one!
Indeed. Utterly cringeworthy.

OP seems a tad frivolous...

I want to pursue compensation of the full value of the suit which is £630.
Well there's a fking shock...
Indeed. Might have been worth chucking a spurious whiplash claim in at the same time.

I'm with the rest of the sensible voices. It's poor form by the cleaners to put the pin anywhere other than a tag/buttonhole, but you're being a bit melodramatic.
Go to a proper tailor, and get a quote to replace the entire back of the waistcoat. If you're lucky and the quality of the silk isn't that high (likely for £600-odd), you might even make a bob or two change out of your £100.

Thanks for all the sensible opinions. I have decided to accept the £100 and I now consider this matter closed.

Before you go, do you mind posting the address of the dry cleaners please?

I'd also like to claim £100 for two pin holes.

Many thanks, and my congratulations to you on your recent wedding.

It was the only thread of yours in the last few months so not much digging required smile

OP threw away the safety pin in park annoyed that we couldn't understand why he was so upset...

I think that is a fair outcome, and hopefully the cleaners will be more careful next time.

The safety pin was obviously not the biggest prick that suit had had in it wink

OP has flounced, no doubt he will be back when he needs to extract some more cash out of some poor bugger...

There were definitely three pricks in this scenario.
