Now I am pretty intolerant of this mindless vandalism. But seriously, advocating breaking bits on a 12 year old?
Personally I think making him work off his debt on a community service type thing would be a bit more balanced.
Good work OP.
12 is not a child. At 12 you know what is wrong and what is right. Stop bloody wrapping kids in cotton wool. A good beating would teach him that. He's probably been in plenty of fights anyway.
A toddler knows what is right or wrong.

Dissuading a child through a verbal bking is one thing, but a good beating by an adult to a child belongs in the past. At 12, regardless of bravado or hard life experience, they are just kids who have been let down by the parenting they have received. .

And you think saying to him "That's very naughty, don't do it again!" will work? No. You get it out of them by showing them there are consequences. Otherwise it'll be stealing cars next, not just keying them.

But then again, we live in the cotton wool era and SJW's reign supreme.

I already stated what I think should have happened in a post earlier, which I have quoted again below. The OP is on the left with his midddle class guilt, whereas you are on the right with the beating. I'm happy in the middle smile 12 is too young to write them off.

The boy is 12, broken home, single parent family.
There are many other kids in this situation so not sure if his parent paying £1 a week is the solution? Would have been better to have compulsory council-ling for his issues/parenting classes for parent/community work and so on I would have thought.

Did he show remorse? Has he apologised to the victims?

I don't think opening a can of whoop ass on a kid is the best way to teach them, but sometimes I do wonder if "being grounded" is enough of a punishment.
I wasn't ever hit properly (a couple of times with a wooden spoon or my Mums crutches).

I think a lot of it is to do with the social circle of the child. Many of the kids at school who were proper s, smoking etc, all had well-to-do parents.

We live in an era where someone who thinks an adult beating up a 12 year old is wrong is labelled an SJW. What a time to be alive!

Frankly that is where we are at. Parents verbally and physically attack teachers if the teachers admonish or do or say anything that may hurt poor little Tiffany or Chaz es feelings. Respeck and so on.

This has come about from the namby pamby SJW parenting groups who have made kids free from responsibility and wards of the state rather than their parents.

A 12 year old being given a smack on the bottom or a clip around the ear won't suddenly drop dead or turn into a psycho.

Instead they will learn actions have consequences beyond being told they have been naughty and that they are grounded.

I was grounded once when I was about 14/15. Funnily enough it didn't work and I broke curfew within hours and in the end I got a hiding with the belt.
