Yesterday ( Sunday) travelling onto the slip road from the A112 to A406 ( north circular ) toward Edmonton.
I was slowly about to drive into the A406 from the slip road.
Suddenly ,from nowhere,an electric blue hot hatch going at least 80 mph swerved in front of my car and then sped off changing lanes, other cars ahead swerving to avoid a collision.
It shook me up as anorher couple of seconds he would have written me off.
After a couple of minutes I saw two police cars in my rear mirror coming up fast in hot pursuit.
Did anyone else see the incident or know the outcome ?

i was out on a test drive today, a blue electric car, was totally impressed with the performance but folks kept getting in the way when I wanted to see what it could do.

Then the police came up and stopped me, spoilsports....

I'm sure it came from "Somewhere", just because you were not paying attention and didn't see it does not make it a magic car.

Not really having a crack at you, or the guy driving like he stole it (He probably did). just that, as a biker. The phrase "Out of nowhere" really pisses me off!

I had one this morning M40 southbound, making progress in lane 2, guy from lane 1 suddenly indicates and moves without looking simultaneously just as I draw level with him, queue my having to move into lane 3 at speed which was fortunately for us both clear! It could have been very nasty, I was traveling just above 70 and I estimate he was doing around 50..

He then judges me from a distance flashing gesticulating at me out of his open window, which was nice!

Were you there then ?
The car came off the roundabout doing 80.
Most normal peeps would know what I meant.
No offence taken, you at least have a point unlike a first poster friend who was avinalarf.

i know - hope you had a smile as it sounds like you had a close one.

number of people these days that dont properly look - in day to day driving. This occasion think you had a crim running away or a car thief. probably realised plod were looking for him and he was trying to evade and not interested in other vehicles....

As for the motorway lane changers those scare me - pulling into lane two from one without any signal and you have to either brake or make a mad dash to lane three if its clear. few close shaves in my time on the motorway with unexpected lane changers...

I pass the BP/M&S service station on the A303 westbound at Popham with more than a slight sense of trepidation. The number of people who just pull out of the services without even looking is quite terrifying. On countless occasions, someone's pulled out when I'm approaching doing 65-70, and you absolutely cannot swerve an old Defender 90 once it's wound up.

The last time, it was some dozy bint in a transit - I had nowhere to go, braking from 65 to 15 on mud terrain tyres makes an awful lot of noise, full beam, flashing and honking, and she completely ignored me. I doubt she even registered my presence.

Utterly, utterly reckless. There's no way she wouldn't have seen me, had she bothered fking LOOKING.

Vans have a very large blindspot which can make it difficult to see vehicles already on the road while approaching at an angle like on a slip road. Obviously a competent driver will check before they get themself at an angle but a lot of people will rely on the mirrors while merging. I'd imagine most of the people pulling out aren't driving anything as large as a van though. Sounds like the sort of place you ought to have your hand hovering over the horn before passing.
