Arse........but ?
Discussion
Overtook an unmarked Police car this morning, and he followed me discretely for about 4 miles.....before putting on the blue illuminations.
Stopped for a chat, and put my hands up to being slightly over the limit, no point in not, and we had a long civilized discussion about it.
He gave my the NIP and I accepted it with good grace, and we parted on a handshake. However, when I got home, I notice he's written the index of the Bike wrong (by one letter).
Chances of contesting it successfully ?

A number of years ago I was accused of speeding. In the magistrates court I pointed out that the time and distance, shown in yards(say 763), stated calculated out to show that I was travelling at under the 70mph speed limit. After a couple of minutes of frantic scribbling by the police sergeant he stated that it was a printing error and the distance should be 0.763 of a mile. My suggestion that as they had the distance wrong perhaps the time was also wrong was ignored. The magistrates allowed him to change his evidence and I was found guilty, fined and banned for a month as the speed then calculated out as 105mph on an almost empty M40 (well it was 35 years ago).

Would he be able to measure fractions of a mile to 3 decimal places? If its any help I got pulled over on a bike years ago (at Bury hill) and got a lecture from the police officer saying he was going to report me for dangerous driving etc and would make sure the penalty was as harsh as possible and it was all on video etc etc and we were being recorded, I did not discuss the matter at all, he asked for name, etc and when it came to reg as I went to answer he stopped me and wrote a reg number down on the HORT1 and said' see those small plates dont work do they'? I thought well they do cause that not my reg number! Never heard another thing.
Many Many years ago I got a speeding ticket for X in a 40 and the summons had the speed of Y in a 40 so I pled not guilty, the original X was higher than what they put on the summons and that was thrown out as well.
