Nothing to see here. Move along. Policing is broken, but....

Crime is down and Police reform is working (repeat ad nauseum if you're the Police Minister)

I saw your name as the last poster and thought "I wonder if he'll blame the Tories?"

What is so hard to imagine about someone pissing their pants when they've been on guard for 12 hrs?

There is a certain irony about the article being posted at 2.50am....

Yep, it happens.

You cannot leave a post if there is no one to take over from you, bobbies get given a post and get forgotten about for the shift. No food, no drink, no rotation of staff to allow breaks, I've seen it and its disgusting treatment.

Its normally rife during party conference season... personally I'd piss up a fence and if pulled up on it tell them why.

Well, even if his request for a toilet break was refused, surely there'd have been an alleyway or some trees nearby?

As an adult, I would only piss my pants if I was in fear of my life, or if I was making a statement, a dirty protest if you will. There is ALWAYS a way of having a crafty pee. Scotland too, where the sight of a guy pissing up against a wall would hardly be a surprise.

Although in this instance I think the copper "soiling himself" was probably a parp-and-follow-through, which let's face it, could happen to any of us.

Maybe it explains the stereotypical policeman funny walk.

Who else has caused such damage to the Police. Even Tory PCCs are challenging the cuts now. Officers are working their arses off and still can't plug the gaps. But hey ho, if they keep blaming Police for the inability to meet demand, some of the mud will stick.

It'd actually be the coalition. The single party we have now have frozen the cuts, (albeit there's still a knock-on effect being felt from before) as I'd speculate they realised they'd really do some damage if they continued.

The only thing that stopped further massive cuts was the Paris attacks. It caused a rapid change just before the budget. The 'freeze' actually wasn't though. Creative accounting led to further millions cut, so much so Osbourne was criticised by the National Audit Office for lying.
