new win 10 laptop forgot p/word

As title, not linked to my Microsoft account. What can i do?

Download UltimateBootCD (free) and reset the password. http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

Use the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. Not tried it on W10 but works on previous versions. The instructions are on the site...

Create bootable USB Windows 10 install drive, erase HDD, reinstall.

Added bonus of it'll remove any pre-installed crap at the same time. Windows Update should sort most the drivers, anything else get from manufacturers website.

thanks, I have created the usb drive, but can't get it to boot. I've tried f10 but nothing happens on start up. any ideas?

Try some other keys - I have to press "0" to access the boot options menu on this computer.

What laptop is it?

I typically will just hammer F9 through F12, but bear in mind you'll probably need to hold down the Fn key too.

You're making a lot of work for yourself... Unless you like the idea of flattening it and starting again

thanks people i got it working...

you have to hold down shift and select restart then from there. it it is a ball ache, i have removed the password screen in the past so may do that again.
