Have you seen the Damaged Red S that's been listed on eBay today?
Such a shame, lovely looking car apart from the damage. Need to know more about the damage as not easy to work out.
Unable to add a link from the device I am on at the moment.
Does it belong to anyone on here?

Shame to see such a nice car get damaged! For a grand, seems like a great bargain.

That is my previous car. Gutted to see it in that condition.

At least one of the front indicators appears to have survived - that should almost justify the current price tag on its own smile

scratchchin Apart from any deformation as a result of the accident, I wonder what the chassis condition is like? The ad says "original chassis".

Uckfield, West Sussex. If it was closer I would have had a look. Looks like it could be saved. Cat D wouldnt put me off from past experience.

I bet your heart missed a beat or two when you saw the advert carrying a photo of a damaged red S with an almost identical number plate.

I went to see it last year before I got Garv,
Lovely car but chassis was very rusty

I have some photos of the chassis if anyone interested the rest of the
car was very good so if is was cheap would be worth doing, but needs a body
off

Appears to have reached the reserve price.
I wonder what happens with the insurance, surely it was insured before the accident, so would there have been a payout on it? I never know what happens in this situation, I am aware you can buy back off the insurance companies if written off. Getting it insured again would then maybe be a bit costly once the damage has been sorted?
Anyway, either way I hope both the seller and eventual new owner both get the right deal and are happy.

I've just insured Garv with Footman James and
for an extra £15 if the is a right off you get
the payout and the car back, Garv is cat D not
been a problem with insurance.

I agree with Barry, I wouldnt see insurance as a major issue as the specialist classic companies have seen this kind of thing many times. I wouldnt go to a big firm like LV for instance, they are cheap but only if it is all easy stuff. They were outstanding for my daily diesel but completely phazed when I asked about the TVR!
Incidentally, it has now passed what I originally paid for mine!!!

Did the same with mine Barry...pretty good for £15 odd quid although I think it was only if it is cat C or D....but then again much worse than that and salvage would be very limited.

Missed the auction end, anyone watching see what it finished at? Or won it?
