A local nature reserve to me has always been free to park in during the week. They used to charge during the summer months at weekends by a gated clerk.

I went there at the beginning of september for a kick around with a few friends. Few days ago a parking fine hit my door. Evidently they now charge 24 hrs with anpr cameras catching you going in and out.

Obviousely i was completely oblivious to this fact. Went back to check and there are 2 very small signs along the (mile) long road entering the reserve.

Presuming i dont have a leg to stand on?

Are payment machines in the car park with the times of operation and costs notified?

I saw a payment machine right at the bottom of the reserve. Which is located next to the cafe, boating lake etc. However on the day i stopped off before this, as i parked in the overflow carpark ( which is a field with logs laid down for parking ) due to us having a kick around on that actual field. So on the day i went no way near the payment machine or i would have twigged.

Unlucky, although it has been well publicised before and since they started charging last April.

This. People on here will tell you to either ignore it or pay it. Neither options are the best way to deal with it.

The law has changed and the Pep lot have a number of pre-written letters/advise that is slightly more in depth than the Ignore/Pay binary method.

HTH. smile
