Of course if you get 3 year replacement vehicle GAP and you write off your car when it's 2yrs 10mths old, you'll be very glad you had it!
i prefer RTI, and have 5 year cover, which each year costs less than a pizza express for 2its very handy, especially as i have terrible bad luck, my last 3 cars all caught fire just before their 5th birthday

What hit her? A steamroller??
traffic stopped on M Way, guy behind distracted smashed into herWas he on his phone?
Good job she wasn't hurt.
Car was parked up in a road side parking space in town. She wasn't in the car.

I'll advise her to push for a repair, and get a second quote from another garage. It must be borderline write off.
If the repair is going to be +£30K, I'm not sure I'd want that car back. Repairs of far less value than that can be noticed by the owner nevermind one for that amount. Bit different if it's some sort of Lambo/Ferrari/made of CF but an Evoque? Rather her than me. I'd suck up the loss and get a new one.
