I have been keeping a eye out on the plate sites for years for M11SOM
It's in a Honda CRV 2009 in blue

How would I find the owners details so I could contact them?

I know that the dvla do the document where you can ask but asking for details to buy a plate isn't a good enough reason apparently :/

Any ideas?

Fast forward a year.
You've bought the plate and have it on your car.

Would you like it if DVLA gave your name and address out to anybody and everybody who said "I want to buy that plate, honest"?

Anyway, they're just saving you from your own tastelessness.

Responses are a bit harsh?

Anyway, OP - there is no legitimate way to achieve what you want, for reasons that should be obvious.

DVLA allow for you to make a request for information about a vehicle's registered keeper, but that request has to be reasonable. Wanting to make the owner of a plate an offer wouldn't qualify, obviously.

The DVLA ought perhaps to offer a service with fee proceeds going to charity or whatever where they would make an offer on your behalf, but they don't.

Short version: You can't, unless you lie.

Cheers for the reposes lads much appreciated

Yeah I have seen people saying about putting on the form that the car keeps parking across your drive etc to get the details but I didn't know if there was any other way to find out

Not sure how to gain access myself but you could try research some of the private databases that the parking companies use, they tend to be based on information sold by insurers and are usually vaguely accurate. Im Not sure if you would have to purchase the whole database though.
