I would guess you're supposed to drive past and note that it's there, then go back and check what it says once parked.

That'll be why it's not facing INTO the car park, OP.

Whatever the 'excuse' given by the OP - if you park outside of an authorised bay in a private car park, you're asking to be ticketed.

Would be interesting to see the reaction if these photos were posted in the bad parking topic.

When you drive up the road and turn in left the angle of the sign is such that you cannot read it. But it makes no difference the only font that is readable is private car park. It's the same place all large vehicles stop to use subway. I've only parked it in one of the bays to show that it's an obstruction to do so. Also the vehicle is only there because I am spending money. Can't see why that is taking the p***

How is anyone supposed to read what's written on the sign without causing traffic chaos behind them?
I'd be more inclined to say how is anyone meant to read that sign. I suspect it is 7 or 8 ft off the ground and printed in a tiny font. I'd be surprised if it is readable when standing beside it.

If that is the only sign in the car park then I very much doubt signage meets the requirements.

Picking up a sandwich would take less than 10 mins and there's a 10 min grace period so you should be fine. Does the Parking Charge Notice state the period you were parked? The access road is not for parking in.

Well I was in there less than two minutes and have a witness statement to say he 'ran' over then 'ran' back around the corner as I came back out. I wasn't aware of any ten minutes grace. But neither was I aware I was doing anything wrong

And, just to double-check, OP - you're not working in or shopping at any of those shops, except in passing? You're parking there, then heading off the site?
He did say he parks there whilst using the shops.
Yes he did. Notice the "except in passing" bit?

Yes, usually parked there 5 mins max, into subway, get my sandwich then drive straight off.

Also have another potential issue, the claim form is of real high quality print, but the County Court Crest at the top is a blurry low resolution image and also the county court stamp looks like a bad photocopy with blurred font. This surely wouldn't be the case with official documents???

OP, can you go back and get a higher resolution image of what the sign actually says. On the basis that this is a private car park, they rely on the idea that by entering the car park and parking, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of parking. If you do not comply with the Ts and Cs, then they ticket you. So the most important thing to do is work out what they are trying to say you "agreed" to. Issues about legibility and whether you actually saw the sign can of course be looked at.

I note from your Pepipoo thread that they have addressed the claim to your company. That implies that they are taking the registered keeper to court, which means that they are relying on the keeper liability provisions of the Protection of Freedoms Act. This sets out a lot of things that they have to do right to make the keeper liable. Post up your original ticket and the notice to keeper they sent through the post if they still have them.

That may all be irrelevant though as it would appear the identity of the driver can be worked out from your posts so far.

Where is Subway in relation to where you parked?

You shouldn't get hung up on the quality issue. What you need to know is whether or not the claim papers are genuine. Ring the issuing court office, quote the claim reference, and find out.

I've filled in the AOS thingy now so the papers must be genuine.

The Subway is literally on the other side of the road to where I parked.

Didn't even think anything of the company thing to be honest. Maybe I should have in hindsight. Not much good now though because I have responded to parking CSL etc basically saying that it was myself anyway. Worse again is that they've got the company name wrong, albeit by only the first letter ....d'oh
