Where did you buy this "Canada Goose" coat with tags?

There are so many fakes of these (and almost all other designer goods) that unless you bought it from a bona fide retailer in store at retail price, it is almost certainly fake.

You are required to provide proof that it's fake to receive the refund without returning. Fair enough really, otherwise you'd just get people claiming everything they received was fake.
Ebay asked for no such thing when we ended up with fake shoes sold as genuine. Ebay told us to send a photo of items destroyed and refunded without question immediately.

For all those saying the coat I purchased was definitely a fake I am convinced that it wasn't a fake. The coat had a relevant back story, it was purchased in Canada by the original seller- had a Canadian price tag on it. I have since had Canada Goose and Moncler coats from authorised retailers so I know the difference between a fake and the genuine article, if this coat was a fake it was the best fake out there! I think its probably something like 90/10 split on eBay for fakes vs real.

I am going to cease contact with the buyer until they take further action.

I've not seen this, although I do know that eBay have tested various ways of dealing with buyer complaints in different ways. This might be one stream. The issue with fakes one way or the other, is that proving they are fake or genuine to a level of certainty where destroying the goods is the right thing to do is really quite tricky.

We had some shoes that were so bespoke that even the retailers of the brand thought they were fake. In the end the V&A wanted them. Go figure.

Ignore all contact.
There is nothing that can be done even if they file a complaint as it is now past the 6 month rule.
That's only for claiming through PayPal. There's nothing to prevent the current owner of the coat from taking the OP to the Small Claims Court.
That may well be true, but the current owner would have to prove that the coat they are claiming is fake is the same one that the OP sent to them 11 MONTHS AGO. I would suggest that this would be next to impossible to prove; unless they all have serial numbers etc etc...

After 11 months, jog on! 11 MONTHS!!!

Story today in my local newspaper some guy up in court got fined £70k and 80 hours community service for infringing on trademarks.

He sold a few hundred t-shirts on eBay with the ghostbusters logo on them.

The newspaper made him out to be some gangsta Pablo Escobar figure but he just looked like a regular family man trying to earn a few extra quid.

I mean how many t-shirts do you see in shops and online with the ghost busters logo, and how many are authorised merchandise, hardly any.

His ebay name was something like SoFAKINGgood so that probably didn't help his case.

Isn't this a repeat? I'm sure I've seen it before.

ETA - definitely a repeat, I remember the following item about the fake builder in Cheltenham; interesting all the same.
