I was just posting it for the location, tbh... A residential road, less than 500m between having two trunk-road junctions, with several side roads, bus stops and parking spaces.
Alright! I lied. I did click on link biggrin

I see your point. I also applaud the OP for managing to get to that speed.

I'm presuming the roundabout and exit were clear as some enthusiastic cornering whilst accelerating out Into that road might get you to 60. It would in my car.

What were you driving OP or was it a motorbike?

Hi All,

I have been to work, sat down with the garage manager and regional manager. The conversation was quite casual and open. They have moved my June Annual Leave forward, so I have have two weeks off from yesterday and I get to keep my job.

Their biggest concern was whether or not I would have to re-take my test, a quick gov.co.uk confirmed I wouldn't, from that point they said they couldn't see a reason to not have me back driving once the ban is up.

Thanks to everyone who supported me and to those who berated me, thanks to AGT Law for helping me format my Mitigation letter and offering his services. Hopefully this thread provides useful for those in a similar predicament.

Thank all!

EDIT: For those interested in the vehicle I was driving: Toyota Corolla T Sport (192bhp of Toyota's finest)

Thanks. I will need the luck, dealing with a Narcisticstic sociopath is draining, although that will be a topic for another thread as I need some advice/pointers.

Genuinely pleased for you.

Anyone who berates you for this should be ashamed to be honest, you've handled it very well.

All the best smile

You've done OK out of this OP. Work have been fair, and the ban, considering it's +100% of the limit is fair. 15 years ago I received a 5 week ban for 108mph on the A46 dual, just over +50% of the limit.

And for those dumping scorn on the guy, have a word with yourselves. This wasn't 62 past an infants school at 8.35am, this was a stupid put your foot down moment on a 30mph dual carriageway, which in all honesty should arguably have a 40mph limit.

Problem is I still need a license to drive a bus, unless I don't tell them. But I'm sure once they do their annual delay license check it will flag up as I had been banned and they'll question me.

I'm looking to do things the right way here. It's also very difficult to get the annual leave as they're preset, only able to swap with other drivers.
You're not really giving that impression. You come across as hugely irresponsible and you're expecting help with something which should pretty much be cut and dried.

Apart from the fact that you're having a child while "in debt" and you're willing to risk your licence and therefore your job despite the impending birth you're now contemplating not declaring a driving ban to your employer. Could that not carry a risk of further prosecution, as could continuing to drive while banned?

You really need to have a serious word with yourself and face up to your responsibilities.

That said your thread title appears to suggest that this is the first notice you've received of the offence. Is that the case?
Has anyone pointed out that you're a sanctimonious helmet?
I have.
You could stop now. I take it as read you'll feel that way when I post.

Well you're wrong, most of the time you seem fair in your assessments but on occasions you are just downright rude.
