Echo the speak to your employer first advice...
How many points can you have and still drive for them?
Can you still drive for them after a ban? (Any length of ban criteria?).
If 6(+) points or ban would stop you driving, are there other jobs you could do there?
Armed with this knowledge, a solicitor may or may not be a worthwhile next step.

I was caught at 55 in a 30 outside a school on a bank holiday monday earlier this year
Bearing in mind I live in Scotland, I saw a motoring solicitor as soon as I received my summons. It was a free consultation and I agreed to having him represent me in court.
Cost me £250 for him to attend on my behalf, and walked away with 3 points and a £145 fine. He pleaded that I needed my car to travel to and from a job that I had just started. My solicitor claims the initial charge was careless/dangerous driving due to the speed and location - however this was lowered to an SP30.
Admittedly it was a very stupid thing to do, however just like yourself, the road was clear and I thought it seemed safe enough due to the lack of people etc.
Honestly, if you are worried about the cost of a solicitor, go for a couple of free consultations and see who is offering the best representation in accordance with how much they're looking to charge you. This would allow you to gauge what you're likely to get points/fine-wise then go with whoever you feel will give you the best representation.
All the best OP.

Feel free to look at the thread he started last month about cameras on the A2... And remember he's already referred to how few cars went past during his roadside chat.
This is somebody who, with a sprog brewing and knowing he's waiting to hear about being stopped at more than double the limit, then goes through some cameras in a "safe zone" "really quick"... and whose first thought then is to "forget" to tell his employer he's been banned so he can continue to drive up to 80 people around...
We get it, you disapprove.

OP will get punished, rightly so, but it is entirely reasonable for him to post looking for help/advice/suggestions.

Who here hasn't been foolish and regretted something? bking the OP will achieve nothing.
If I were the OP I'd beg borrow and steal (not literally, of course) to fund a solicitor who knows his apples in motoring cases, assuming I needed my licence in place to keep the wolves from the door.

<shrug> We get it - you approve...
I'm not saying that I approve. The speeding is bad, but OP knows that.He does not come across like the kind of person who is trying to find an easy way out, he knows full well he's cocked up, is probably stting bricks and is looking at his options.
It's all very well saying "HE HAD A KID ON THE WAY".
6 months ago the currently 4-month preggers wife wasn't even carrying...idiot.
Compared to half of the posts here about avoiding speeding fines he is coming across as best he can in this situation.
Heaven forbid you end up in a similar position.

There are far too many in SP&L who will post purely just to let OP know that he shouldn't have done it and it is tough luck.
Great, that really helps answer the OP's question and improves the quality of a thread. It is like a fking echo chamber in here most of the time, with the same old faces telling people what they should have done and how they would have never ended up in that situation.
Instead, how about we answer the OP's question or offer some relevant advice? I know the concept seems alien to some, but this forum isn't really about dispensing keyboard justice everytime an OP fks up.
OP was a spaz, I'm sure he knows that. Constantly telling him does nothing to progress or improve the quality of the thread.
If people want, I'm sure the mods can set up an autopost that immediately posts:
"OP, you were a complete idiot for doing that thing. You should suffer the full wraith of the justice system. Please don't procreate. I can't believe you didn't know that OP. OP is a wker. OP, I'm going to trawl your posting history and find something posted years ago to use against you, please don't go anywhere."
It would save a lot of time on here, stop threads descending into arguments and allow helpful posts to fill the thread.

The sprog's due in March. I make that three months time. Which means that, at the time he was nicked for this, she was just about getting up the duff. But what you might be forgetting is that that also means that by the time he started the OTHER thread a month and a bit ago about the speed cameras, he not only knew that he had a twice-the-limit-in-a-30 hanging over him, having been stopped at the time, but that he knew damn well that she was four and a half months up the duff...
I'm not going near the wisdom of getting her up the duff while being in a very precarious financial position, then knowingly risking your job.
And, fwiw, I'm not having a pop at the OP, but merely clarifying the depth of the position he's put himself into to those who are tacitly defending him, like JonV8V and Beaver King. Which is why the comments you're objecting to were quoting them, not quoting the OP. The OP has been told - repeatedly - he needs to get a solicitor. This is the only advice that can be given. If the thread was closed as soon as that was given, it wouldn't have lasted past the first reply.

I don't know the area in question, but I can think of half a dozen pointless 30mph limits near me where travelling at 60mph or more would be perfectly safe. The old days of 30mph limits being applied only in high-risk areas is long gone, these days councils just reduce limits wherever they think they can get away with it. Delaying drivers will promote alternative transport choices, plus they get to look like they are saving lives. If they rake in a few fines as well then that's a bonus.
