South West owners

Hello all, I've been lurking in your section for a while now and learnt a lot, this section is a credit to you all.

I'm a prospective buyer for a VXR8 and wondered if anyone in the area would mind meeting up with me, letting me have a look around their car and perhaps you could take me for a drive out? Grateful pint or two on offer of course.

I've been having a good look online and seen the main suppliers such as Elite and MWP, but they are all at least 2 hours away and before I make that sort of trip, I'd like to try and have a look closer to home. My heart is pretty much set on one, but I've only had smaller cars before and what to make sure I'm 100% happy before travelling further afield.

There is a mini meet up tomorrow at Elite why not pop along and have a chat and view some cars i can only presume it would be in your best interest

Sorry my fault, should have stated I'm in North Somerset, so Bournemouth etc are just as far away. Thanks for the suggestions though, they are much appreciated.

Can't help with your predicament but I know Elite have a red 2009 VXR8 that used to be my bosses car and it is completely immaculate plus it has some tasty upgrades from Walkinshaw on it. If i had £20k to hand I'd have bought it without hesitation.

I have a slightly modded 57 plate vxr8 in North Bristol. I'm currently sat in Toronto airport on my way back to the UK. Could do Sunday if you're desperate but i'll probably be jetlagged to fk. Otherwise i'm about all through the week.

Would be worth seeing a slightly modded one like Z0mb's to be fair .. gives you ideas and makes your wallet twitch a bit, in anticipation.

Thanks chaps. Met up with S0up last night and had a good chat and he took me for a quick drive.

Just need to find the one for me now!

Perhaps when I have, a South West meet could be in order? There seems to be a few around.

Sounds interesting! You'll want a S/C'd one if you buy a NA, so just buy the S/C in the first place!

I do love a supercharger whine, not quite sure I can justify it though.

Early 20k is plenty for a vxr8.Ringram has a nice silver manual R8 for sale N/A and is quicker than a few s/c cars its a 7.2ltr lump in it

Probably best you didn't come to look at mine. Went to take it out the garage earlier for a much needed wash and the battery was totally dead. Turned the ignition watched the voltage gauge go 12.. 11.. 10.. 9.. 8.. *bong*. Luckily I knew it was on its last legs and had a new one ready to drop in but still inconvenient I really should start remembering to put it in the charger if i'm not going to drive it for a while.
