It's not been a bad year for new metal with something for everybody really: new 5-series/E-Class, F-Pace, Audi R8, 911 R, Focus RS, BMW M2, DB11, Giulia, Golf GTI Clubsport S but which brand new car from 2016 would you most like to take home and keep.

The DB11 should have walked this easily but unlike every other Aston from the last 25 years, from some angles, I don't think it looks that great!

I would love a new F-Pace as a daily (don't mind which engine, just not the 2.0d)

and an Abarth 124 Spider for fun. I was massively disappointed with the new Fiat 124 Spider when I first saw it but in Abarth guise it really works for me.

If I could keep only one, probably the Abarth.

The wooden spoon goes to the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. I actually quite like the 2 door Coupe Evoque and an SUV convertible can work (Jeep Wrangler) but this one really makes my teeth itch!

I think the new Tiguan looks really very good especially in R line spec

Obviously my car, official car of the year 2016, Vauxhall Astra!

Seriously though, maybe Bugatti Chiron and something achievable Merc E-class.

No, that's cool! Shame they made a bit of a mess of it though.

Car of the year for me has to be the Guilia Quadrifoglio. I mean, just look at it!

And that interior is also equally as gorgeous...

Most hated car of the year for me also has to be the Evoque Cabrio. No reasoning required, a picture speaks a thousand words... vomit

This. All this.

That evoque looks like a big orange bath tub. Proportions are awful.

I'd second the Alfa.

That did spring to my mind too...just a shame that any sought after porsche and much like the Cayman GT4 ends up totally out of reach for most.

I need a lottery win please.

Slightly cheating as the car it's based on isn't from 2016 but I love it!

The 911R imo will be effectively made redundant by next years 'manuel' option 991.2 GT3 which will have the same gearbox.....and more aero too.

£125k instead of £500k. Go figure, as they say!

Agreed. That's what I ended up doing and I love mine to bits.
