Just saw this on my Facebook feed. No connection with the poster, it was shared by a friend, so I am assuming that it will be visible to all.
Apparently Police were informed, but took no action? Does this sound correct?

I'm not defending the truck driver in any way, but there's a large dose of contributory obstruction by those who'd parked. That wagon's no wider than a big red one with a ladder on the roofrack.

Agree totally, but failing to stop, leaving no details. One car I could understand, maybe 2...

I can only think that there's some daft rule about not being the one that has had this happen. I had similar when someone nicked money from my bank account, the bank refunded me therefore as far as the police were concerned I was not the victim so they couldn't act on my behalf, they had to be asked by the bank.

As long as he reported it to the police within 24 hours he did nothing wrong.

To be honest... good on him.

People need to learn to park, preferably using some common sense.

What if.... it was an ambulance trying to save a life. Or a fire engine for that matter. both equally as wide.

But it wasn't It was a lorry making a delivery. No-one was going to die if he didn't.
My point is, he hit one car, then two, then rather than thinking.. ah.. perhaps I should stop now, it would appear he just thought "*** it" and ploughed on.
Is that the behaviour of a "professional driver". If I was his boss, he would not be working for me anymore.

There's some distance imo between emergency vehicles trying to save a life doing this, and a guy delivering some roof insulation to a trading estate....

Yeah but what if there was a Bus Stop full of kids in the middle of the road, he would have killed them all. THINK OF THE CHILDREN FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!

Where MrsC works, a truck recently turned round in their entry-way and mashed a fence in the process. MrsC saw them do it and went over to challenge them, apparently the driver's mate just looked at her, said nothing, got back in and they drove off. She got the VRM.

The owner of the business reported it to BiB, and much to all of our surprise, BiB sent a long set of forms out to her to fill in (basically a statement) and they are taking it from there. She's only just sent the forms back so we don't know outcome yet, but they are certainly doing something about it.

Regardless of the parking I can't actually believe a normal minded person would condone the driving standards of that lorry driver, it's the behaviour of a terrorist/lunatic shame there were no anti terrorism police about at the time,

How on earth can someone not know they have hit another vehicle, I am surprised the police didnt take any action, no doubt some drivers will be onto the drivers company, needs sacking for starters, bloody idiot.

Re comments on ambulances and fire tenders, dont think it would be problem for an ambulance, dont know about a fire tender, pity we dont know what street it is.

Are you serious?

How many were killed or seriously injured?

Sums it up. Trial by Daily Mail.

A spokesman for the CPS will say 'Justice has been done.'

Quite often HGV's do not know they've hit anything due to the size of the truck. If he did know and reported it to police after then he did nothing wrong. He may of wanted to be clear of the road before reporting it to avoid just sat blocking the road. They are only still photos so do not show whether his driving was deliberate or just an accident.

If it is just an accident it's only damage to metal which insurers will pay out for. No injuries and no roads blocked so no need for police involvement.
