Isnt there restrictions for a carer using a mobility car go get to work? I thought it was principally for caring for the person. This isn't a dig but could the court see it as abuse of the scheme?
TBF, he didn't say it was the motability car he was using for work - just that he could drive it.

In 2003 I got stopped for 107mph on the A1 (M) after overtaking an unmarked. Huntingdon Mags gave me a £500 fine and six points. I was, however, most contrite.

http://www.motability.co.uk/about-the-scheme/how-your-car-can-be-used/

Apparently he can use it, but it throws another question if it was indeed the motability car would this be considered a misuse doing the speed that he is to be prosecuted at.

Perhaps his mum was in the car at the time.
My old dear isn't keeping me below the ton.

100mph on most roads is breaking the law.

The risk of doing so, when you need your licence for your job etc is a bit daft, especially on a road known for having plenty of speed enforcement.

Quite simple really.
Yeah, thanks for that, who exactly do you think you're educating with this statement? 100 mph is breaking the law on every road in the UK, not " most ". Don't you read your own posts back to yourself and ask yourself what you sound like, or what the point of your post is?

People already know " it's a bit daft ", me included, but I'll still do it when it's possible. I don't need your view on that, and I doubt the op does either. Either give him advice worth hearing or stay out of it. This place is just becoming a refuge for sanctimonious weirdos with nowt better to do than criticise rather than help, what's brought it on, I wonder.

I sympathize with your position but would say the only thing daft about it is getting caught by a camera you know is there, not the 100+ itself.
Hadecs are a nuisance because trucks in the inside lane obscure the cameras so they can be easily missed if you are not familiar with the road.

I said 'most' roads, not 'most roads in the uk'.

Yes, people probably do know "it's a bit daft" however, as pointed out before, the OP didn't seem to take this into account when he was happily driving along the M25 at 100mph, knowing that it's vital that he keeps his licence.

Yes we all take risks every now and then, but if i got caught, i would not be asking random internet people what to do.

Some here have been lucky and got away with it with a large fine and points, but there will be plenty that didn't.

Anyway, i hope that was easy enough for you to understand..

You can drive at 130mph at Milbrook, that's a road in the UK.

Just saying.

I wouldn't and won't come on here when I get caught, which is massively overdue to the tune of more than 20 years. The forum exists for supposedly like-minded people who occasionally need advice from one of the many who have found themselves in a similar situation in the past. To my mind, it doesn't exist for people like yourself who have no helpful advice to give, but enter the thread anyway simply to take a cheap shot, but unfortunately that stance is becoming more and more the default position of many on here. It's a deeply tedious routine, and will be my primary reason for looking elsewhere at the point in time where I require assistance.

i hope this was as easy for you to understand as your post was for me.

Didn't know the speed limit at Milbrook was only 130, thanks for letting me know, I'll avoid it. I do more than that reversing out of the garage.

Try asking a normal car insurance policy to cover you if you think that's a road and not a private test facility.

Just pointing out the obvious

Say something grown up, or even anything worth reading and I'll think about it. If you post responses like the ones you previously have, what do you expect?

This is what most people on here seem unable to grasp. Just because there is a speed limit in place doesn't suddenly make exceeding that limit dangerous.

The main road to the north of my house used to be NSL and recently was re-rated to 40mph. If I do 50mph on it today is that dangerous when 2 months ago it wasn't? No, of course not, but the sanctimonious would cling to the notion that it is! They are probably the same sort of people that believe in God.. i.e. a bit stupid!

The offence of excess speed doesn't allege it was dangerous, it's written in a manner that proof of danger is not an element required for the offence to be complete. The allegation is you exceeded the limit.

If the allegation is that doing so was dangerous the offence would be dangerous driving Sec 2 RTA.

I think you need to read cmaguire's post again and then it might click into place... or .. do you believe in God?
