The last Athena contract with Lidl hat I saw stated that no court action may commence without the express permission of Lidl. The only example I know of them instigating court action is somebody who was parking on one of their sites for daily for a few weeks, but I don't think it ever got a hearing.

You can take your chances, but I'd be inclined to submit a strong appeal around the signage, and lack of POFA compliance on their Notice to Keeper in the first instance, and leave it at that.

It will be rejected, and the option of POPLA will be given - the appeal points can be repeated, but even POPLA is becoming as much of a lottery as the IAS appeals.

I got caught out once ( well more than once) i got a letter for a £90 fine and had a mild panic when i logged onto their website had found 4 other occasions that i would soon get chased about.

I sent them an email with either a receipt or bank statement to show i'd shopped there on the day and they came back very quickly to cancel all of them.

It was really that easy, i didn't even have to go on a special parking charge website.

It was easier for me to notice the quite extensive signage the next time i went though.
