Just to correct Surveyor 101, The only people driving on the motorway that work for Highways England are HATO's, all the other vehicles marked up as motorway maintenance are contractors or sub contractors, he should know that.
Not strictly correct they have directly employed staff in marked Octavias.

However I did work for a managing area contractor. I did take out project sponsors at time who worked for The HE direct.

Not that it really makes a difference in this argument

I didn't see that it was a few weeks old, it was high up in the page. I am not arguing. I asked youna specific question, which you haven't answered and seem to add to your story to justify it.

I drive at 90+ on the motorway as much as traffic allows. I have no problem being overtaken by others going faster. I see no need to report them. If the police pull me (or him), then we get a bking, a fine an dpoints or worse, but that's for the police to catch me (and him), not someone who can't cope with a van overtaking them.

Fuel bills for a business? Irrelevant. My fuel bills? I drive a very thirsty 4.0 V8, so the cost doesn't bother me. I don't run a fleet of vans, or have a business where I have to worry about fuel costs. Nobody needs to know that fuel bills can be 20% higher. Why do you believe they have to?

He drives quickly. On PH the argument is consistent that they'd rather be near a driver concentrating at a speed over the limit, than one half asleep at the speed limit. You seem to be arguing the opposite.

I fail to see why you need to report him, other than pettiness and I stand by that view.
Your not in a marked local authority vehicle using tax payer tyres and fuel I would guess. Hence my point. They also have slow down and road safety msgs on some of their vans.

Plus you don't represent highways contractors. Any vehicle with Highway/motorway maintenance!

If in unmarked cars using your own fuel you want to drive at 90 I won't report you or upload footage. This was a specific case due to the van the person as driving, I suspect they will fit limiters to the next lot. We have tracking and driving behaviour monitoring in are commercial vehicles.

Focusing on the issue of the bush.

I could approach the neighbours but that's gamble of outing myself. If they are nutters or don't like me asking I have reasonably close neighbour who I have fallen out with.

I have tried asking nicely before and had the police called on me by some nutter. This was a neighbour who drove like a loon and parked in other peoples off road parking.

The authorities have a process in place to deal this where I don't need to inter into conflict with the occupier.

Have you not approached the council yet? What have they done?
Approached council and logged fix my street.com. Somerset highways dealing with it.

Council said they will give Occupier 28 days and if not they will employ someone sometime after and bill them.

Just called Highways.

Apparently since the footway still has 1.2m of clear space they can't take enforcement action.

They have written to them and will do again asking for it to be cut.
