I was flashed last night by a Gatso at an indicated 75 (about 70-71 GPS) on a NSL dual carriageway. What do we think the odds are on receiving a NIP? Is this going to be the legendary 71 in a 70 NIP that people on here like to mention but never see? hehe

Join the club; I'm nervously waiting after going under a motorway bridge on Monday that I failed to notice had a camera van parked on top of, and the windows were open. Was on cruise control at 85 so we'll see... the van was painted yellow though, like that flat, council vehicle kind of yellow? Never seen them like that before. A few miles earlier I had passed under a bridge that had yellow work vans parked up; I just assumed it was more of the same.

Interesting, I've always understood that the main basis for the prosecution case was that these couldn't make mistakes or go wrong...

It won't be for 71. It'll be for at least 77. wink

A flash doesn't always result in an NIP.

I have waze on in my van all the time now

On the A55 on Thursday a cop car hidden on the on slip road followed by the camera van on a bridge 2 miles further up

Both were reported by waze users that had passed by before me so I went past both at 58

Nice little trap though spot the car in the rear view then let your speed creep up for the van to catch you

You want to slow down, you loonatic.
Your speed was clearly inappropriate for the road conditions and traffic flow. I believe a speed awareness course is too lenient for such a crime and a 12 month ban plus large fine (including victim support surcharge) is the least you deserve. Drive more carefully next time. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Gatso cameras have a self test. It triggers a flash. Possibly it was this and nothing to do with you driving by.

Indicated 90mph on the A1 flashed, NIP came through at 85mph recorded, a few days later.

I knew I was bang to rights, I would expect you'd get a SAC at worse? 3 points for me I guess...

Was on the m62 yesterday, gantry flashes up 60 so I set the cruise control to 61. Go through the first two gantries nothing and then the third one flashes!

Best thing about it was the car 200 yards in front of me was doing a minimum of 75 and no flash

You need a very dirty rear number plate!

Interesting, seems I'm unlikely to get anything (or it'll be easy to contest if I do).

That's usually a single flash I think? It was definitely a double flash.

As soon as I saw the OP was in Cheshire I guessed where the scamera was. It flashed me at under 50mph and a colleague at 40mph on Thursday night.

Well that explains why I got flashed the other night, it's still a bit unsettling even if you know you are well under the speed limit (my speedo said 60mph, tracker said 55mph) a friend a few minutes behind got flashed as well

According to the link it was reported at midday so 10hr's later they hadn't done anything or turned it off??
