Slightly stunned this morning to find that some (or presumably, bunch of s) has stolen a 12 foot trampoline from my garden. How they've done it is beyond me.

Any idea if this is covered by contents insurance?

Was it the wind? If not it will be clowns.

They are cheap as chips, is it worth the bother of a claim?

I wonder if the thief was called Doris?

What does your contents policy say about things "taken" from your garden?

Have you tried looking in my mum's office window? One went hurtling through there on Thursday. Luckily she'd just gone to make (yet another) brew.

That's what the Mrs thinks - I haven't been home in daylight since Thursday morning so it ties in. But there's no sign of damage to the fence next to it. It's just...gone.

If it's the same one I was watching during its flight up the street on Thursday, I can tell you exactly where it landed. Do you live in the middle of nowhere in the Midlands perhaps?

ETA: It didn't damage your fence, my fence or the other neighbours fence 'cos it was 20 feet up in the air at the time...

Middle of nowhere in Oxfordshire...I've asked the local farmer if he's spotted anything.

A cursory news search shows trampompolines making a break for it in London, Milton Keynes, Liverpool, Worksop, Telford.... be more odd if someone's clambered into your garden and nicked it.

Mystery solved! I had a call from the farmer. It's in a field about a mile and a half away, lying on its back with its legs in the air. No idea how I'm going to get the bloody thing back home (or, more likely, to the tip).

Apologies to the local thieves and pikies I've been cursing all morning.

These bloody things are all over the railway on windy days. They cause significant disruption!

Could you sell it to the farmer?

I work in the railway control, of the various objects, that ended up causing chaos on Thursday, I reckon a good 50% were items that came from outside the railway. Sheds, roofs, trees, and of course, trampolines

Seeing as trains are quite heavy and the rails are nailed down, what were the other 50%??

Trees mainly would be my guess, plus the occasional overhead wire.
