Right- my car has it's MOT date late on in the month, and I pay my VED by DD, which is taken at the start of month.

Normally I get my MOT done well in advance, so that there's no break.
BUT, what if I waited till last minute and car failed, and at month end/ start of new month, car had no MOT.
So if at month end car had no valid MOT, would DVLA take the money and run or what ?

Is this the same month your annual VED starts?

Remember, you're paying monthly, but you're buying annually.

So if your car has no MOT on 1st April, and your VED starts from 1st April, they won't renew it.
If your car has no MOT on 1st April, but your VED started from 1st March, your car is still taxed until the end of Feb next year.
