Buying a Mk7 GTI - any issues to look for?
Discussion
I'm currently on the hunt for a Mark 7 GTI, and had a look at a 2014 3-door at a local VW dealer this afternoon.
The car itself looks to be immaculate, the only thing of any note being the new pair of Kumho tyres on the front (the car has done 28000 miles and the rears are half-worn Bridgestones), and when I drove it I noticed the steering wheel wasn't straight, pointing a few degrees to the right. The car felt perfectly ok, with no indication of anything untoward from the steering.
I made the point that this should have been picked up (and corrected) during the 143-or however-many point inspection which the dealer proudly proclaims each used car must succumb to, and also that the new front tyres might be indicative of an alignment issue, so any deal would be dependent on an alignment check, with "before and after" readouts, and aligning the steering wheel properly. They weren't playing ball on the issue of a better set of front tyres, unfortunately.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, are there any known issues with the Mark 7 GTI that I should be aware of?

The driver's door on ours has started to creak when opening and closing. Lubrication makes it worse. The dealer reckons the check strap is loose, and wants £118 to replace it.
Mind you, when one of the cornering light bulbs blew, they told me "It's good practice to replace them in pairs, at eighteen quid a pop."...
I went to Halfords.

Thank you for the replies. I have, as the saying goes, just pulled the trigger, and I'll pick it up on Thursday.
I'm rather looking forward to it!
I love ours, and probably use it more than any other car. I nearly replaced it towards the end of last year, but then decided I hadn't finished enjoying it.I'm rather looking forward to it!
