A question on the red light cameras. The other day I was on the A322 just before the M3 roundabout. There are some traffic lights before it with the red light cameras there. As I approached them they went amber, and I was in one of those should I / shouldn't I brake. No one was behind me so I hit the anchors, but stopped with my back wheels over the line. The car on my inside went through the lights. Now, If the camera took a picture, would it show that I was stationary? I knew the camera was there, which is why I stopped, but it wasn't the safest of manoeuvres, and if someone had been behind me, it would of been dangerous to have stopped.

Cheers.

Might be worth trying to find out if the phasings have been changed to give a short amber cycle.
The reason for the short amber cycle? To catch motorists and make money.

I believe the cameras are supposed to take two pictures just in case you stopped before the junction/after the line.

Oh, but hang on that would be bringing fairness into the equation. Better to cut the amber phase, and take a picture if 1/2 inch of bumper is over the line. That's far more profitable.
