The road where my Parents live is on the edge of a housing estate, it is a single carriageway but very long, straight and fairly wide. It is a very easy road to speed on, yes I''ll admit that in my teens when the first rushes of petrol fuelled adrenalin and boy racer ego ran riot I myself have managed to exceed 80mph on it. However now I''ve grown up a bit and realised that some urban speed limits are worthwhile this is a road that is a prime candidate for a bit of enforcement. It has all the reasons for speed limits a 2 schools, shops, houses, a pub and a local reputation for accidents. I think most residents like the idea of a GATSO after all its their kids at risk. However there isn''t one and the reason being its a residental area and the houses are too close to the road, the continuous flashing is deemed as "intrusive" and "invasive" into peoples privacy in their front rooms !!!!!!! Such complete bo***cks makes a mokery of the reason the damm things were invented if they can''t be used where there wanted why have them ?????? Oh yes its much easier to sight one a couple of miles away on a nice straight of A road with fields either side and a nice handy hedge to hide it behind. That way it gets more money, doesn''t "invade peoples privacy" but does bug*er all for road safety !!!!!!! Twisted logic I think
