……..keeping the high powered BMWs for high speed chases?
…errrr - no. Not generally, anyway. They’ve fallen out with BMW due to engines failing at speed after an Officer died.

Was a bit of a generalisation - I saw a Merc cop car just yesterday, not sure what model, but it certainly had wide wheels on it!
Normally I only see Focus estate cop cars around here. I have yet to see an EV.

Interesting. Didn't know that.

I do know that they have "100% Electric Vehicle" in a significantly larger font than the word "Police". Virtue signalling and priorities come to mind.
OP "You never see a BEV Police Car"

Replies "There are BEV Police Cars around here"

More Replies "Police have had BEV cars around here for years"

Further "They put BEV on the side of one I saw" "Virtue signalling"

More "They've got it wrong, don't know what they're doing, I know more about Policing than the Police do"

My local station has a good few EV local plod cars.

Plus there is usually a BMW I8 on charge which i assume is the station Boss’s. (Whatever he is called these days).

One problem with their EV Toyota estates is that when carrying 2 policeman & their usual equipment they are at the maximum permissible weight so cannot carry anyone in the rear seats.
What Toyota EV estate is that then - just asking as they only have the Prius and the new SUV thing as EV's, never seen a EV from them.

Or is this just facebook FUD

Should be quite useful when the Police come to charge someone with an offence.
Especially more violent crimes like assault and battery.
A couple of positives there and can't see any negatives.

I’ve seen Police Scotland using electric Hyundai Konas round here. And the Scottish Ambulance service using an Ioniq 5
