If your running an insurance business and your business model is 12 month policies and in a financial environment where your market is rocketing in prices Then why would they give the customer a 24 hour policy?
If you cant afford to run a car then sell the car
If you need a car and you dont have the money then you might have your priorities wrong
Hope this helps
What an absolute, sanctimonious bellend. If you cant afford to run a car then sell the car
If you need a car and you dont have the money then you might have your priorities wrong
Hope this helps
About 5 years ago, I didn't realise my policy wasn't auto-renewing (I had three other policies with the same company, each due one month after the other, and the previous two had auto-renewed).
I drove my car on the day after it had expired, past a couple of police cars, and through some ANPR cameras.
It was only on the day after that I got a message from the insurance company saying "We noticed you didn't renew" that I realised what I'd done, and immediately renewed it.
I didn't hear anything about the lack of insurance from anyone - but I was sweating for a few weeks! The only thing was that it was a Sunday that I didn't have the insurance, and maybe someone hadn't ticked the box to say "No, he's not insured" until the Monday...

I bought a new car and transferred my insurance to it and left my old car parked on a quiet street until a buyer collected it a few weeks later.
Looks like I did wrong but I'm free and didn't receive a letter.

Not the same thing at all as contravening the CIE rules, being parked on the road you were ‘using’ the vehicle as far as the law is concerned with the potential for a large fine and 6 points had you been caught Looks like I did wrong but I'm free and didn't receive a letter.

This was a New Labour idea, create a crime of forgetting with a fixed penalty attached.
Any perceived loop hole or flexibility those tossers jumped on it.

Yes, thank Christ the Tories saw fit to revoke this heinous affront to natural justice at the earliest opportunity. Any perceived loop hole or flexibility those tossers jumped on it.
OP - I can't remember exactly why but my Mrs managed to drive around without insurance for a good couple of months not that long ago. We're both still at liberty and no poorer. You'll be fine.

had a similar issue with a new car when i miscalculated how long the 5 days driveaway insurance would last (x + 5 apparently too difficult for me) so had my new insurance starting on x + 7. Had the realisation on the tube on the way home and, as I was parked on the street, it was the most stressful 45 min tube ride of my life... Was still there and undamaged when I got home thankfully
I wouldn't worry about it. I have 4 cars and two motorcycles and very little time so with the removal of physical reminders, license disks etc I am perpetually missing MOTs and juggling insurance. I was once over 6 mths late with the MOT for one car as it had got out of sync with the insurance and License over covid. I drove it around as normal and in theory invalidated my insurance etc but no-one noticed including me.

Aha if that was what was meant then I apologise for the bolshy reply. It felt like the usual forum response where someone tells you why you are wrong about something they nothing about. Is a valid MOT not necessary for insurance purposes then? If not then I stand corrected.
Edit
A quick google would suggest I was right. What am I missing?
