I've read the are they / aren't they legal posts on these but, legalities aside, which one do people recommend and why?

Do some show up as an "error" on the laser gun whilst others not show up at at?

I would seriously advise that the best type are the type that would also open a motorised gate or garage at your home. I believe that there have been recent cases of police obstruction, which technically fitting such a device is. The penalty for this is a lot worse than speeding. If the device also opens a gate or door at your house, then *that* would be your reason for fitting it, then if it happens to annoy laser speedmeters then that is a side effect not a reason.

I'm not sure that using one would matter anymore as the BIB dodgyscopes either generate the same errors as those generated by the door openers or give a false speed reading. Occasionally, BIB dodgyscopes give a correct reading, but there is genuinely reasonable doubt now, so any sensible court should throw any case right out the window.

Thanks for the replies regarding legalities but any help answering the original questions would be much appreciated. What makes/models do people use and why? Cheers!

I did say "sensible" court. Of course, I expect there will be intense political pressure not to let any "test cases" through lest the flood gates be opened to claims from the probable tens of thousands of wrongly convicted drivers.

What about the bus "caught" doing like 68mph in a 30 and the Jap import that (apparently) couldn't do the alleged speed due to restriction? And wasn't there a punto doing an unfeasibly large speed too?

How come these don't represent case law?

Guys, if you want to talk about courts or other legalities, please can you start a new thread. I was just asking for some advise on makes/models of diffusers and not what the courts would think of them. Many thanks

Snooper SLD920X is good value, In the test reports it says it does what it says on the tin, they even stock it in Motorman stores so easy to buy, easy to fit (& remove) two send/recieve units in the front so you need to mount them properly, some units only have one so they may be easier to hide. Good bit of kit but still yet to be tested for real.

Its a mans right to protect his licence.

Thanks Splodge and rich. I also heard good things about the LRC100 but not sure how it compares to the SLD920

LRC100 (LE-20) work well and are much smaller & therefore easier to fit than the SLD920, they are also more powerful, also the SLD suffer from water getting inside causing potential failure.
LE-30 is the replacement for LRC100/LE-20 and is more powerful.
Both the LRC100 and LE-30 can be used to open your Garagedoor or switch on a light etc.

Or so I'm told

Good evening gentlemen!
After yet another very close experience with the law and there 'let's get the motorists moto' I have decided to purchase a camera detector. Could someone suggest a device that picks up all kinds of guns ( laser, mobile units) I don't have a massive budget however as I drive on average 800 miles per week I need something to pick up all those (Safety Camera's!!!!!)

Regards

Luke
