When on my motorbike I rarely even look at the speedo, I ride to the conditions - this means that if it is raining, foggy etc i'll ride far below the posted limit, and when the conditions are good, i'll ride as fast as I like and is safe. In fact, when I bought my bike the speedo was broken, and the only reason I missed it was because I didn't know how fast the thing would go

I USED to drive/ride within 30/40 & 50 limits, and only break the limits on the NSLs - now I ride to the safest speed (for both life and license) in any limit as there are so many inappropriate limits popping up that I have no respect for limits anymore. Near me there is a long straight bit of road that has always been NSL - about a year ago they replaced all the lampposts and apparently fitted ones only approved for up to 40mph impacts, and it's cheaper to lower the speed limit than it is to replace the lamp posts with the correct items - so nobody sticks to 40mph along there, including me. It's ridiculous!
