Happened yesterday on the north bound A1 western bypass. I was travelling south and it appeared that a scamvan had parked itself into the back of an S-type. Before I managed to start chuckling, I saw that there was another car between van and Jag. The ScamVan had stopped in the outside lane and used its flashing orange lights to protect the crash and get the traffic onto the inside lane.

Whilst I was driving past a bloke jumped out of the van with a police hi-vis jacket. I can't imagine that a civvy operator would have done the same.

This must be the first contribution to safety by a ScamVan ever, and shows why we need more trafpol. Incidentally, the ScamVan was on his wayhome after scamming a newly installed section of roadworks - they do this under the pretence of "public concern", I find it hard to believe that a member of the public can have been sufficiently worried about vehicles speeding through roadworks, then to complain to the scammers, and for the scammers to organise a van and an officer, all when the roadworks had just been set up.....

The cynic in me suggests that they were picking off easy victims.....surely not....
