Getting back to the article, as part of this safety campaign, 13 kids were pictured standing along the road, representing the number of children that are killed or seriously injured EVERY MONTH

So that equates to 156 kids KSI'd last year. I'm sorry, but if 156 kids had been injured or killed last year, I think I would have remembered more press coverage other than the two or three I can remember.

I can sort of remember the council admitting that for every accident, it's classed as 5 KSI's, so really that means that there's only 2.6 kids knocked over/month - in the whole of the North East. I think that's pretty good going myself.

And before anyone starts going on - What if that was your child, my children have been taught to cross the road sensibly - whereas the kid my Son was playing with yesterday is provided with a buffer zone by an over protective mother - he ran straight across the road without looking.
