I joined the M1 to go south at J12, about 11.30 this morning, and as I accelerated down the slip road, I spotted some blue strobey things on the back of a car to my right, on the hard shoulder. It was an unmarked car I haven't seen before, a Mid Blue Mondeo, looked to be new shape, having pulled over an Alfa I think.

I thought plod locally went for the Merc/BMW option or even Omega style, but Mundaneo? New one on me

Eyes peeled time I suppose!

Guess they're just trying to keep everyone on their toes. Hampshire's finest use Octavia vRS's....who would have thought?

you say that, but my eldest, doesn't know what all the fuss is about, he thinks they look okay not brilliant, and when he compares the spec and prices can't understand why i don't get one. One day, in the not too distant future, they may be seen as the coolest, most desirable cars as no one will know just how bad they were

i suspect the rs was a freebie or vastly reduced, it'll do Skoda’s marketing no end of good

Dark Blue Honda Accord had someone pulled on the Hard Shoulder of the M1 Near Donington Park Services around 8am today.

Rear lights were flashing in an alternate stylee...very, very sneaky.

He HAS been busy - saw him with someone Wednesday afternoon too. I think it is a type-r with the big wing...

J16 M1,
not far from weighbridge BTW.

Silver estate, had stopped a car,
(with home-made trailer) begging to be stopped really as the lights only half worked.

sadly I was clogging it as I went past, and did'ent notice estat un-marked car make, (possibly Mondeo ?)

And then coming off northbound at Crick,
a marked people carrier thing, leading a foreign truck to be weighed.

Almost certainly the same car...

Was on the way to the NEC with the nephew, he spotted it and i just got a quick look as we passed it.

Given some of the "spots" in this thread its a bit ironic i was in plod's current unmarked weapon of choice....the Ocatvia RS

How can you spot an un-marked police car? Are there any tell tale signs?

Unusual roof aerials, additional rear-view mirrors (passenger side), lights are usually visible behind the front grill, 2 large blokes in identical clothes in the front (unless single crewed),may be de-badged / have no dealer stickers/plates, dunkin donuts bag on the rear parcel shelf
