Got a "clever" young bloke around - on a Honda ( says so on the rear) -- looked a bit too good to be true so i tried a DVLA check on the plate - came back, no tax since last april, hence unlicenced - engine -400cc --could be , but looks a bit bigger.Colour - black - oh , this ones yellow - now could just be untaxed - could be uninsured too as he might not have licence or could be a clone -
DVLA - not interested as not left on road for any length of time - thought with these details they would ask for a stop - no - i've got to report it - is this right, as i know a report ,other than to a traffic car /bike is a waste of time - -help

Are you a copper?

Is it any of your business?

Are you jealous, envious or just plain hate the bloke?

Since when has the DVLAs computer actually been accurate?

What's the context of this???? What does "got a clever young bloke around" actually mean???

If you're poking your nose where it doesn't belong, then I suggest that you've got too much time on your hands and perhaps you should take up a hobby. Maybe bridge? I hear that it's having a renaissance at teh over 65's club.

Wolf1, would your response still be the same if the biker had just been involved in an RTA with you?

Thanks Wolf1 -now last week - i was walking down pavement - nearly got run down by this plonker - he saw me , but thought it too clever to wait - thought might ( his bike) was right and he'd push me and wife out of way - i saw him, wife didn't i had to pull her away. he likes to ride up and down pavements with kids on road/pavement.
Only a matter of time before he , if not pulled (IMHO - 40 YEARS ON ROAD, 10 YRS ncb, 1m miles accident free -not an old flat cap , i assure you ) does someone a nasty.
I have no axe to grind - he is a bad advert for bikers. If he's legal - a pull might wake him up - if as i suspect he's not then the best favour i can do the genuine bike blokes is to see that he is taken off FAST.
I came here to ask for advice - thought some biker might see the problems - i get abuse - either help or shut up -

Oh the rta save the kittens argument!
What if you were to run over a small child carrying a sick kitten to the vets tomorrow! What would you think then? Will the fact that you are insured alleviate the pain and anguish of the parents at the loss of a child? Well of course it would because you were insured and the money will just solve everything won't it!

Who exactly is to say this bloke doesn't have insurance or tax etc? The dvla computer is constantly wrong so cannot be relied upon. Physical proof is the truth not some petty minded assumption.
It's the 'I don't know this person but I dislike them for some irrational reason so I think I will screw with their lives' attitude. It's nothing but an arrogant assumption that they are in some way superior to the other person.

'Love thy neighbour but shop the bastard as soon as his backs turned!'

Fair point oldie (missed your reply above before posting) you do seem have an issue with the bloke. Should have put it in your first post as background as you came across as interfering.

Shut up! - Why? Is this not a discussion forum? Am I to assume you now have power over free speech? Do you own the internet?

Wolf1 - "shut up " - no not you - twas the others - my post was done because i believe i have spotted a clone kid - and want to find out how to have him challenged .No interference - just want him checked out - and if legal( which i doubt as bike looks like 600 at least wrong colour ) -as i said -might just wake him up . On the other hand - a word to certain bikers might work better.

Sorry Oldie I was a little too confrontational there.

Most modern 400s do strike a resemblance to larger models these days so may well be the genuine vehicle for that number. Colour change could be attributed to the riding style that you have already witnessed. As it may have been down the road and been repainted in a different colour. How to go about what you asked bar the local police I have no idea. I would speak to the fella myself if I was concerned about it but it's not everyone way so cannot advise otherwise.

Exercise good citizenship Oldie and have a natter with a REAL Plod at your local Plodshop or,

speak to a Traffic Plod, or

if you are shy:

www.shopthem.com

If my bike had been stolen and and as a result of information given the thief was arrested and dealt with I would buy him a pint....

Thanks DVD - as i said - DVLA not interested as it's never left outside for any length of time - what i thought DVLA might do was take reg and ask local plod to have a look - specially as the ved is missing as from April.I did toy with idea that DVLA info wrong --thats why i rang them - but if it's not parked on the road they're not interested.
Will poss try to see if any trafpols are around anywhere.
