I address this to the heroic gentlemen on this forum (and elsewhere) who wear the cloth of Plod.....

You may be aware having rifled through Serges In Tray during the night when he is out but if not have a look at:

Yet another layer of bureaucracy x 2 to make sure you are doing the job - NPIA and Chief Inspector of Justice.

One day they must just get rid of all the red take and let you do the actual job.

Ah, but the point of all the form filling is for *them* to CYA. If they endlessly institute policies to protect themselves they don't care if the poor BiB spend 90% of their time filling in forms .....

The new Labour standard approach to cutting red tape : more forms to find out where the excess red tape is.

Out of interest, what proportion of the forms our BiB have to fill in is relevant and/or useful ? how much of it is duplication ?

Typical of (pointless) job creation and red tape by Labour.

Just add that to ID cards and look at the examples of waste highlighted in this thread:

Oh, and it's about time they banned something else...at least a week or two has gone by since the last "reform"...

Well, as NuLabour now has its own version of Hitlers Enabling Act allowing it to pass legislation if it feels like it, as long as it doesn't get you more than 2 years in prison, god help us all, not least the poor s*ds who have to try and remember what is a crime this week.

AFAICS most of the new laws are superfluous or pandering to certain groups, and they all seem to be conveniently widely drafted.

The prats are now claiming (for example) a whole new load of powers for teachers. They appear not to have noticed that teachers already have these powers, but are unable to use them because of their other policies.
