hi all -

got a NIP reminder through the post this morning - unfortunately my driving license is still registered at my folks address and I dont think I have enough time to get the license updated and get it off for the fine and points....

..is it worth just chancing it through the courts?

any danger of them not having 'followed proceadure' thus getting me off?

36 in a 30 zone

Xmas bloody day....

I presume that the NIP was from a Camera Partnership and served correctly within 14 days on Reg Keeper and you have less than 9 points on the Licence and you are not contesting at a Court?

In this case it will not be going to Court, but they will be sending you a Conditional Offer once you have signed and returned the 172 form admitting being driver. They will then advise you to pay 60 notes and 3 points on DL and matter ends. In forwarding your Licence and Counterpart with the cash you may consider putting a note with it that they have to be returned to your parents address. Once back in your possession heavily laden with said points off to DVLA to notify change of address:

see here:

www.dvla.gov.uk/coa.htm

Dont forget there is an obligation to also inform them of change of address in relation to the Reg Keeper if it is you. Offence not to do so.
