coming home this afternoon through roadworks on a dual carriagway that has a lane coned off, and the 60 Mph limit is down to 40 Mph through it, a small Poice van appeared about 6" away from the rear of our car with his blues and twos going, anyway I did the correct thing and slowed down to about 20 Mph to allow extra stopping time which caused him to get even closer from my rear end, I honestly believe he was trying to cause me to speed up so he could nick me, but me being me,I always do the opposite of what authority wants

my point is, where do the Police get these dangerous Muppets from?, I only wish I had had the time to note his registration number as I would have reported his extremely dangerous driving to his superiors

are you traffic Tony?, it's just that it seems the ordinary Police drivers (non traffic) are abysmal drivers

Why did you slow down to 20mph in a 40mph? Was traffic coming to a stand-still? I'm just trying to picture it in my head.

Matchless, Yes iam.

Everyone makes mistakes though and has a bad day at the office.......hopefully they wont make a habit of bad driving.

In my experience, bad Police drivers come to notice because they tend to have a few Collisions.

not one to join in the "get at the BiB", but walking through a town last week at 8.50, past the local schools. All the delivery Mums doing there drop off and all the kids walking etc. I here na naas of BiB, 1st one goes past overtaking cars at the school and in a rush, 30 seconds later another doing the same. Something terrible happened somewhere I think! Only to find 10 minutes later, the same two BiB cars at a minor car crash. Rear end shunt at no more than 15mph. What the F was the rush other than the rush of doing it! These were not traffic patrol cars just Bib, as far as I could tell. Just no need for the danger or the rush. Luckely no one got in thier way!!

This reminds me, when you're going down a NSL and you come up behind a Police car/van doing 40-50, are there any laws against overtaking it? It's happened to me a couple of times and I've not dared overtake, even though the conditions had been suitable. Would I be OK as long as it didn't happen to be one of those coppers who arrests anyone for doing anthing they don't like?

It may not have come out as that to the BiB though, it could have initially been reported as a personal injury accident.

May not have been the Cops fault. It might have been *reported* to them as far worse than it was. I would *hope* a cop would not drive like a loon at any time for a minor shunt.

I have been to a believed fatal accident that ended up as a motorcylist with a grazed knee ........

Never judge the officers by what you see them attending - they are acting on the information usually given by the public .......

Exactly, well said !

In fact its frustrating when youve been driving say 20 minutes on twos and blues only to find that the incident is nothing like you were sent to and could have quite easily been reported at a Police Station.

Lets not also forget about hoax calls......but lets not go there.
