Thief steals £20,000 speed camera
A thief who stole a £20,000 speed camera is being hunted by police.
The camera was stolen from a fixed site on London Road in Sunningdale, Berkshire, on Thursday night or the early hours of Friday.
Insp Malcolm Collis said: "The theft of this camera is disgraceful. It shows utter disregard for the safety of other road-users."
Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses who saw anyone loitering near the camera to contact them.
Insp Collis said: "The camera was put on this road to slow motorists down because three people a year are being injured on this stretch of road.
"I would urge anyone with any information, or anyone who saw any suspicious people near to or standing on a vehicle near the camera site, to call police or Crimestoppers anonymously."

This one is claimed to £20k and I've seen others claimed at £40k. Which is right, or are some SCP's paying more than others?

Ah -the 40K ones - would that be because they've got little notices on them saying that so & so police are keeping tabs on them - hence the extra 20k to pay for security (which obviously this one didn't have )
