To "Hello I`m a Newbie and I got caught at xxx"
It`s becoming tiresome.
There`s hardly enough space for me to argue with the HATOs !
Further to that, I dont mind asking those questions, the ones I dont like are:It`s becoming tiresome.

1) I have been caught speeding/running a red light/etc I am annoyed, I want to fight, do I have a leg to stand on?
2) Lots of valuable and experienced input.
3) A bit of discussion from people saying the OP shouldnt speed.
4) We never hear the outcome.
I think that its very unfortunate that, as the forum has changed emphasis from "how does this work?" or "what's the law here?" to "I'm a keyboard warrior and I will fight these iniquitous arbitrary posted speed limits to the death" and "how do I find a loophole to get out of this?" we have lost the input of a number of serving police officers, whose insights into the way things really worked were very helpful, to those who were prepared to listen.
I can see that it's one thing for a serving police officer to be able to say to his senior "I am helping to educate interested motoring enthusiasts" and quite another to try to justify participating in a forum which, on the face of it, seems to be assisting those who wish to break the law. I know, I know, that is not what most of us are about, but "on the face of it", that would be an easy conclusion to jump to.
That, plus the amount of unjustified taunting and bashing they took from those hiding behind the anonymity of a keyboard, and it's no surprise that many have given up, and that is a great pity and a significant loss to this forum, IMHO.

Yes, but thankfully we appear also to have lost a couple of seriously prejudiced and utterly ignorant officers who contributed absolutely nothing to the legalities of any of the debates and simply seemed to exist to wind others up and ruin the credibility of logical arguments.I can see that it's one thing for a serving police officer to be able to say to his senior "I am helping to educate interested motoring enthusiasts" and quite another to try to justify participating in a forum which, on the face of it, seems to be assisting those who wish to break the law. Most of us know who these were.
Possibly true, but unfortunately we haven't also lost a number of other seriously prejudiced and utterly ignorant posters who contribute absolutely nothing to the legalities of any of the debates and simply seem to exist to wind others up and ruin the credibility of logical arguments, too.

I've got this technique: don't read 'em, don't respond to 'em.
