What I started watching as a thread about Gatsos not actually complying with their type approval has irrupted into a torrent of hatred for the OP. confused
....
Not hate, just ridicule. There's a difference.

When you consider that this thread has gone on for five and a half years, and the OP has not yet provided it, I think the answer to that is obvious.
What I consider 5 and half years on is that, as far as answers are concerned, this thread answers absolutely nothing.

What began as a valid argument with potential legal merit was quickly drowned by a prolonged mess of smoke and mirrors. Equally worrying was to see an internet community, supposedly on the same side (for the most part), reduced to fighting amongst themselves.

Put it this way, if the original allegation concerning the power supply units is indeed with foundation, then the OP appears to have done a fine job working on behalf of the SCPs. After all, the ramifications of such a breach of legal compliance could be collosal, so you could certainly appreciate them wanting to pull out all the stops to head off a possible catastrophe. So to deploy some bogus "champion of the cause", whose real brief is to ultimately screw things up, would constitute a very effective Machiavellian political move. It works like a charm when executed properly and is also very effectual for suppressing any future attempts to revive the argument. But of course, no one would ever attempt to pull off a stunt like that, certainly not in full view of the Pistonheads community. Would they..?

However if you consider the answer to my original question to be obvious, I would equally contend that, if our friend Ramtec does not reappear here one final time to provide us with an honest and satisfactory explanation of what really happened with respect to the power supply unit TA issue, my wild conspiracy theory may indeed hold water.

But...

What if Ramtec is part of the huge conspiracy? A mere puppet of the SCP-illuminati thrust forward as a potential destroyer of the SCPs but then ritually humiliated and discredited when seemingly so close to victory, thereby casting doubt on the doubters and allowing the secret mason government to tinker with their PSUs uninterrupted.

In both cases the defendent challenged and won.
Which just goes to show that GATSOs do not, as a general case, prove speeding beyond a [b]reasonable doubt[/t].

They should be scrapped and full restitution made to ALL those persecuted by them, preferably from the pockets of the racketeers who ran them.

Just think, fluffnik, what you might achieve if you turned you energies to something important. There is a lot of real persecution and injustice in the world, and there are never enough people to campaign against those things. Maybe have a read up on world affairs, and the real meaning of persecution. Perspective, and the wider view, are generally useful things.

Sorry, edited this as I realised I was replying to a v v v old thread.

The mags will have heard this case and asked themselves the question:

"Does the testimony from the expert make us believe that the accuracy of the Gatso is less than 'certain'? In other words, does it introduce any (reasonable) doubt at all?"

The answer to that, as evinced by the OP being potted, was 'No'.

I never miss an opportunity to have a pop at the unpleasantly (is there another sort?) authoritarian whether petty or gross. smile

The Scameratti are pretty (sad and) trivial in the great scheme of thing but I don't think anyone imposing authority for its own sake should get a free ride...

...baiting them is a little light relief from worrying (about) the truly unforgivable ccensoredts.

I avoid Moroccan and Israeli oranges for very similar reasons to why I avoid Floridian ones.
